Luther does look interesting and Elba is gold in pretty much anything he does.

Any non police show suggestions?

Peep Show, An Idiot Abroad, IT Crowd, The Ricky Gervais Show, Extras, and Party Down (all comedies).

Suits is a tv show based on lawyers and although the writing/acting may not be the greatest, it is a very fun show when you have nothing to do so I highly recommend it if you're not looking for anything too intense.

^ I'm a huge Idiot Abroad fan.

Is suits the one with the guy who isn't a lawyer, but remembers everything he read in law books or something...

Something that has at least a few seasons.

I think I'm going to try out Dexter next. I've seen the first season and theres enough episodes to go through now.

Thinking about watching Homeland also.

Any other good shows out there?
Watch Deadwood my friend. Absolutely amazing show, greatest dialogue ever written for TV, best ensemble cast, and some of the best performances on TV, Ian McShane in particular. It's 3 seasons long(36 episodes). I really can't say enough about it.

I always hear about Deadwood, but never got into it. Good suggestion.

Yeah it's a fun show.

And new episode of an Idiot Abroad is coming in a couple of weeks I believe. They have Karl travelling with Warwick Davis so I'm very looking forward to it.

For those of you trying to get through the next few months, here are a list of shows to think about:

The Wire
Arrested Development
Six Feet Under
The Sopranos
Twin Peaks
Deadwood
Mad Men

I'd argue that every show listed above is better than Breaking Bad.

I don't think any of them outside of maybe The Sopranos have as many "oh ****" moments that Breaking Bad does so well. Haven't seen Six Feet Under or Twin Peaks, but the others are very good shows indeed.

Suits been an advocate for the show since the first episode. Absolutely love it. New Girl too, although I'm not sure what this listing of shows is about since I haven't read what's on the last page.

I've watched Dexter since the beginning and I have loved it. I also watch The Walking Dead. I would recommend the X Files if you're talking any shows, not just current ones. Started watching from the beginning on Netflix, it's great. I enjoy True Blood as well.

I will second Deadwood. It's virtually a flawless show. The genre and adult content maybe not be for everyone, but I honestly can't think of how it could've been done any better.

Twin Peaks definitely isn't better either. First half was really good, but the second half was weak.

A pseudo trailer for Breaking Bad, I thought it was pretty awesome. Can't wait for se5 to resume and wrap the show up.

If you haven't watched the show there will be spoilers in here, found it on reddit.

I still think the two final episodes of se3 and the third last and second last episode of se4 are some of the best television episodes ever.

Girl at my work started watching BB (and by that, I mean she watched like 2-3 episodes of season 1). Posts on Facebook saying she's finally watching it, responds later that night saying she doesn't like it because it's a "white trash show".

I ask her why the next day, and she says because they hang out with drug dealers and they all seem really white trash. Honestly the last thing I've ever thought watching it. My response: "Well I hang out with drug dealers too, am I white trash?" She had no response.

The worst part is, her idea of a good show is How I Met Your Mother.

Don't forget the season finale of season 4, especially after the "event". The whole part with Walt showing up at the lab, them trashing it and leaving the laundry, to their goodbye on the roof is incredible.

It helps that the show I'm currently watching is phenomenal. Michael C. Hall is probably television's best actor, and no not Dexter.

Let's also mention that all those shows besides the supremely overrated Arrested Development & Mad Men were on premium TV so they weren't as held back by censorship. Censorship will always hinder creativity so they had their advantages which make it surprising that Breaking Bad has been as good as it's been.

God I miss this show. Even though it isn't even airing I still think about it all the time. I guess it's about time I went through the series again. Probably gone through completely 5-6 times already while watching random chunks of episodes here and there.

I've heard, but I've been putting it off until Dexter is completely finished. I don't think I can wait another year though and it will probably be the next show I catch up on.
