I didn't think anyone on HF would bother to watch the show, so I was a little hesitant on making a thread.
I actually missed the premiere, but I'm glad to know its worth watching.
I hope its online somewhere.
I love The Hills, and Newport Harbor reminds of the old Laguna Beach.
Why party and have a social life when you can watch Gossip Girl?
I don't watch TV but the radio ads were pretty funny for it.
Haha, good point. These shows are on one hour a weeknight(Monday-Thursday) nights which I probably wouldn't go partying anyways(maybe Thursday sometimes). I don't mind taking a bit of time off each night....
I watched it because I loved the OC (I'm also female, which makes it okay) and I'm still on the fence about it.
Penn Badgley's character seems like a lame attempt at replacing Seth Cohen... ie the outcast at school, picked on by the cool guys who lands the pretty girl and gets in a fight during the first episode. His attempts at sarcasm and witty banter leave something to be desired.
As much as I loved the OC I'm not sure if this is going to be my replacement show...the great thing about the OC is that it was original (for my generation anyway - too young to be a 90210 or Melrose Place fan) and if every episode follows the basic pattern of the OC I'm not going to be interested.
....and nothing dims these stars.
Hmmm, perhaps I should have included this show on my list in that "Shows You're Embarrassed To Tell Your Friends You Watch" thread. I'm actually old enough to remember 90210 (that should tell you all you need to know about my age) and I loved that show. I caught the pilot of Gossip Girl (OK, so I DVR’d it) and actually liked it. Perhaps it’s a desperate attempt to recapture my youth…or something. Needless to say I now have the series set to record on my DVR.
