Yes, the swiss league is quite "soft" but there are still cheapshots here and there. Nash also got injured because he got hit (legal). But to be honest, I don't think you'll see some major injuries on the lockout players.
And here's a warning about advertising on NHL jerseys......the boards are bad enough. Try finding the number from the nosebleeds at the Staples Center!
You're not kidding. I know the video quality isn't great but still. Very difficult to make out who is who. But glad someone uploaded to youtube so us in NA can see him play.
bern, is considered a contender right? i think it will be the first time that tavares will ver be on a winning team being that the oshawa generals kinda suck as well the isles do to, this lock out will be a great experience for him and an almost prefect way for streit to hand him the C
1 assist (on the first goal) and
2 goal (a goal and the empty netter)
It was a smart empty netter !! ... not a "stupid" empty netter where you "simply skated" faster than the others and catched the puck ... he was at the level of his goalie defending, inherited the puck, saw a window of the other empty goal and shot smoothly ... i found it great and smart to have this vision in a moment of pressure !)
Bern won 5 - 3 to Ambri Piotta. A third tier NLA team
So, in order to play for the team, I guess they all have to change their last names to Peugeot? (hate those jersey and ice ads)
imagine how us ol timers feel when they went from brilliant white boards, white ice and pure hockey to ads, ads, ads, bigger pads and the current Bettman All Star snooze. It's probably only a matter of time before the Viagra ad is bigger than the team logo on Jean Tavares-Peugot's jersey back home.
I, as a Swiss, am used to the advertisement. And i like it.
i actually regret that NHL jersey have no adds !! (not kidding)
though it has to be nice and fitting
soon Tavares Peugeot will wear the the golden helmet postfinance on top of that
(being for the scoring leader of each team)
I was wondering about the whole golden helmet thing... it's given to the team's leading scorer to wear, right? It would definitely make it easier to locate Hans on the ice since it's practically impossible to do it by jersey.
So, how has Johnny looked so far? He's got a lot of rust to shake off. How's his skating acclimating to the big ice surface? He's always been good in International tourneys on it, but I'm always curious. He is our Golden Child and soon with a Golden Helmet.
they put the leading scorer in a gold helmet? Why? For the other teams to focus on? Or for the fans to focus on, since it's so damn hard to see who's who with all those ads on their jerseys?

Either way, it's silly.
Silly indeed. The stone of triumph is the way to go
That's because a sponsor pays money for the golden helmet. And for each point the topscorer collects the team gets at the end of the season a certain amount for their junior-teams.

maybe it's like the yellow jersey in the Tour d'France, so they know who to fling all of the baseless doping allegations at?
