He's definitely going to be a fan favorite if he continues to develop along the path he's currently on.

Matt Cooke isn't a bad comparable for his style of game.

For some reason Ruutu comes to mind more to me.

Probably because he's European, but still, they are similar players as well.

I always imagined Tom Grace as being some cranky old guy, but apparently this is what he looks like...

You know what, I always thought the same thing. But I'd say his appearance matches his voice, which most other radio personalities can't say.

Yeah that's not even close to what I expected either.

People in the minor league threads seem to think he is as bad as Steigerwald, but I certainly have to disagree. If he had no internet or scoreboard, i can understand him being grumpy tonight.

Is Megna still hurt? I'm assuming he his since I haven't heard anything.

The lineup will be a tough one to crack when everyone's healthy. Although since this is the Penguins organization, that will likely never happen.

I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see Kuhn/BB/Uher/Megna and to a lesser extend Thompson/Gibbons in as many games possible. They represent the only hope of top 9 prospects and I'd like them to see all the development they can get.

Megna, Vielluex, Manderson, and Bortuzzo are all still injured. They will not play all week-end and most likely not until next week. (That may be me being the optimist.)

Hynes seems to be morally opposed to the concept of 'lines'. It's just whoever he fancies chucking out there!

I'm really liking Tangradi's game tonight. He's much improved in his own zone too, which is what I think has been keeping him off the big club.

edit: and he gets the EN goal too. Much deserved. He's earned the right to be out on the ice at the end of the game.

He's definitely NHL-ready, not only to get in the line-up but to begin to break out

Is Tangradi a legit 230 lbs? If so, good god if he lost body fat this summer and improved his skating

I'm just glad that he's finally putting it all together. This is also the reason why I'm going to give Bennett a lot of time to get used to the pro game.

Every bit of it. He's been insane on board battles and in front of the net. No one can budge him

Highlights from WB/S win in Syracuse

Goals by Holzapfel, Bennett (1st pro goal), Tangradi (2, moved into 10th place on all-time team WBS list for goals)

Fights from Paul Thompson and Alex Grant. Steve MacIntyre deters the final minute

He better get use to that press box. Bortuzzo should be back in the lineup soon so the bottom pairing will be a juggling act as long as the NHL is on lock out. The top 4 are going to be Strait, Reese, Bortuzzo, and Despres. Everyone else will be fighting for ice time.

That's a really tough group to crack...

Morrow, Dumoulin, Sneep, Grant, Samuelsson, and Mormina are going to be in a heated battle. I'm not missing anybody am I?

FWIW I'd go with...

Strait - Bortuzzo
Despres - Dumoulin
Morrow - Reese

Not really in any particular order. I don't really care so much about WBS winning as I do about developing our prospects to be good NHL'ers, and that isn't going to happen in the ECHL and/or in the press box. Hell, I'd even sit Reese in favor of any of those other guys not named Mormina too, but I know they HAVE to dress a veteran back there. Although, it's not like Bortuzzo and Strait aren't veterans with good leadership qualities...

edit: I also for the life of me can't figure out why they still bother playing MacIntyre. Nobody will ever fight him. Period. Chippy **** still happens regardless. Just a complete waste.

That's a minor gripe though in the grand scheme of things.

I agree with this. No way Morrow should be "getting used to the pressbox." If he has deficiencies, he needs to work on them in the AHL because unlike the other prospects, he has a legitimate chance to be a top 3-4 defender (Dumoulin too). The organization shouldn't be worried about icing a slightly better development team with veterans who have little NHL potential, if any at all, getting the ice time. Terrible way to manage talent.
