Isn't that how they felt about Winston Justice pretty much?

CSN had a poll that asked what grade you would give Reid over his 14 year tenure.

42% voted F.

Really, 42% ?

That's a pathetically high number.

Justice was considered a first round pick back in 2006. It was even speculated that we might take him with the 14th pick that year. Ended up falling to 39 due to character concerns and everyone, including myself, was pumped when he was picked.

Reid took the team to one NFC Championship game after another and had a Super Bowl appearance so either his coaching isn't what it used to be or his players just aren't as good as the ones he used to have. Although you can't fire the whole team so the coach is the one that gets fired.

Lol. People are angry, I get that. But Philly fans as a whole aren't as knowledgeable as the sportswriters in town keep giving them credit for.

I expect them to fire the whole team as well. There's a slew of players who could and should go.

Love watching the Cowboys lose.
Hate seeing the Redskins become relevant again.

There it is!

Romo throws a pick with about 3 minutes left.

Puts the Redskins in field goal range with a little time left.

We're a knowledgeable bunch. We just are emotional, and some of us think with our anger and frustration, not our brains.

Or comedy. It certainly wasn't an "F" era. Voting "F" certainly is fun. It gets a point across.

I'm not surprised. I know quite a few people who decided years ago (a few seasons before McNabb left) that Reid wouldn't get the job done; I thought they were just the usual negative Philly fan at the time, but they've been right in the long run.

Still, F is incredibly harsh. I don't think my negative friends and family would give him an F. I'm a Skins fan (somehow), and I'd give him a B-. I think they'd agree, since they remember what it was like before him. Even without a Superbowl I had him at an A, but recent decisions (Castillo) have bumped him down.

I really don't know how I would grade him. After seeing his clock management and playcalling skills in the Super bowl, I was ready for him to go. His last 7-8 seasons have really dragged on. I give him a ton of credit for being able to prepare a team for the game, choosing QBs, as well as his original coordinators. But all of that seemed to crumble a couple years ago after JJ passed. The Castillo debacle, the 60%+ passing plays per game, lack of creativity, lack of team leadership, lack of adjustments, poor drafting....etc etc. Had he been let go in 06 or 07, I'd give him a B+. Now? Maybe a C. Last few years killed him.

The team has not been good since 04. That's a lot of seasons at this point.

At some point the recent bad and mediocre teams have to start out weighing the good teams that still couldn't win

Best memory: Beating Falcons in NFC championship.

Worst memory: Losing to the Cardinals in NFC championship.

Andy Reid gets a solid B.

Think about the other franchise around the league. Other than the Patriots, no other team has had the sustained level of success that the Eagles had for a decade. If you get into the playoffs, you have a shot. The Eagles got in quite a lot, but never cashed in (hence the B).

Marino never won a Super Bowl, but was consistently great for most of his career. I liken Reid to a guy like Marino.

Lurie is saying Howie Roseman had nothing to do with the 2011 draft?

Hearing the follow-up questions, it doesn't look like the media is buying it.

I was kinda hearing that.

By the way, god help us all if the Browns win a Super Bowl before the Eagles.

They already did, they're just called the Ravens now.

I meant the new Browns, the one that Joe Banner is now a part of.

The team was about 2 minutes from going to another Super Bowl in 2008. The next two seasons they won 11 and 10 games, so it wasn't all mediocre after 2004. I'd give Reid a B+ or a B. There's no justification for seriously giving him an F. And for all the talk about him passing the ball too much, and I thought so too at times, he was ahead of the curve in that facet. Almost everybody is passing more now than when he started as coach.

^ To me it all started going downhill that first half in Arizona. They **** the bed. The rest is history.

Id give him a B overall. The last 8 years would be a D.
