Pro potential i'd say at the very least he is a high end AHL scorer but if left to develop can be a 2nd or 3rd line winger.
Article on him this week as the Huskies play the Gophers who have his brother as a Dman.

Thanks for info. One more year in the NCHC and then to the AHL.

Also Hudson Fasching had a good weekend. Against St. Cloud 1+1 (game's 2nd star) and against Minnesota-Duluth 1+0 (game's third star).

Mersch and Wisconsin are playing Michigan on NBCSN and he scored a very nifty goal in front of the net. Can't wait to see the Kings turn him into a grinder who is glued to the boards when he comes up through the development system.

And the Mayor tweeted a video of the goal.

Too bad Wisconsin sucks and Mersch couldn't get in/wasn't good enough for Michigan.

Where did you hear Michigan turned him down?

And last I checked, Wisconsin was ranked above Michigan last year as well as this year, the two years Mersch coincidentally led his team in scoring.

Yet he's not good enough for a lower ranked team?

Well, two posts are written as fact, when one was actually an opinion.

Just making sure the readers don't have some sudden notion Michigan turned Mersch down because someone's bias steers their writing off the factual trail.

On another note, Zykov has 7 assists in his past two games.

That's awesome. He has elevated his game since coming back from the WJC.
He used to be 4th in scoring on Baie-Comeau, but now #1. That's amazing, because
he missed a lot of games, during the WJC. He is #1 in plus minus too, at plus 26.

Looking at Hyka's numbers, looks like going over to Sweden wasn't a great idea. Only 3 goals and 8 points in 35 games.

In other Kings' European import news, Moller is doing pretty well with 13 goals and 29 points in 38 games. However, Bud Holloway has come crashing down back to Earth this year, registering 9 goals and 28 points in 45 games. That's a steep drop from the 20 goals and 71 points he had in 55 games last season.

Do you think Moller ever comes back? IMO, with this coaching staff and GM, I'd say nope. He doesn't fit the mold of being 6' 200. But I think he's an NHL player, just not with us.

You're right...players who can skate, have a 5th gear, have offensive talents and use them,
can create their own chances, do not excel in dump, chase, retreive, cycle, weak shot from point or horrible angle...have NO place on this team.

I wish I could say there is a chance for Moller to make the Kings in the future but it's hard to say. If he's gotten stronger and won't be ragdolled around like he was when Bobby Ryan of all players blew him up, then I'd say there is a chance. Hell, I remember when Sutter coached the Flames and used Oleg Saprykin who was an average sized player. So long as he wants to play in the NHL and works hard on the ice, I think there is room for Moller. I'd certainly like to see him be given another chance before writing him off.

Brian Burke was very high on him a few years back so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Calgary in a deal for Cammalleri.

Dowd an absolute beast last night, 3 points (2G) and a +4. Put the team on his back to key a 4-2 comeback win.

To be fair none of those things are Moller, or at least the version from 4 years ago. He's quick but doesn't have much straight away speed with no 5th gear, he's not good on the boards, not much puck protection, and I'm not sure he has top-6 offensive potenial. Doing decent in Sweden with their top team so you know... maybe. Maybe we see him in the next training camp and he makes a run for the 3rd line. If anything he's could be a slower version of Brad Richardson. That's decent depth.

Where do you see Dowd slotting on the Monarchs next year?

Probably 3rd line wing/center to start. He's a good PKer and he is not shy to sell out to block shots. As he gets more comfortable, I think he can easily move up the lines. Guy works his butt off every night, I've never seen him take a night off in 4 years and he is a class act as a leader and a person. He will definitely be missed next season.

I understand but I've been keeping up with the KHL schedule just to see how he's doing and while other teams are still playing his team all of a sudden just stopped. I'm assuming CSKA's schedule had an early break.

Looking at the KHL sched, looks to me that they stopped play on the 29th of January and won't resume play until the 26th, with their season ending on March 4.
