While it hasn't hurt in regards to PP goals, to many penalties tonight.

2 things displease me so far: 1) The 3 goals in :56, you'd think someone would call a time out, no? 2) Poti taking a penalty while the team was already down 5 men to 3. A sign of things to come! WOO!

Should I keep quiet??

As soon as I posted they score a PP goal

Let's try something.

The Rangers Euro line is having a better night than Lindros, I doubt Eric will score a goal

Preseason means nothing. Sure it would be a bonus if they won, but I'm not losing any sleep tonight over it. The important thing is the Nedved line looks to be hot right off the bat..hopefully the Lindros line can get on the stat sheet sooner then later. Also happy to see that Moore scored a goal.

This is the best time to lose..just figure ***** out and get it all outta the way. These games are to evaluate your teams and see what works and what doesn't. These games aren't "meant" to win. Sure it would be nice, but thats not the point.

So, don't get too bent outta shape. Look at some of the other scores tonight. 6-1 Flyers over Devils? 9-2 Panthers? Preseason, means nothin'.

It looks like Dunham struggled. If that's the case then I'm not too worried about this game, though our D and discipline needs to improve still

a lot of positives came out of this loss

Ah-ha! So you're the guy the press is always talking about when they say Rangers fans want the team to be in a "win-now" mode!

Very true, but still a little alarming to see the team fall into the same old traps. Undisciplined play, wholesale penalties, poor PK, blowing leads, being outshot 17-4 in the 3rd, etc. This wasn't exactly a stripped down squad either.

I'm more concerned about the preseason schedule. They could obviously use a practice or 2 to identify the failures of last night. Instead, they're traveling, and yesterday is all but forgotten as they prepare for tonight. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I agree Melrose, 3 games in 3 nights for preseason, why? But that said, it is disappointing to see them fold up once again, even if it is the first preseason game. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Yes and what you have to like best is The Captain's two lazy hooking penalties.

But why open a roster spot for a hustling kid like Moore when we can have Messier?

And Melrose is dead on pointing out the 3rd period shot difference. Nothing has changed. It's still the team that gives a 2 period effort.

The Messier penalties will be forgiven as usual. Until the veterans, and I mean all veterans, are held accountable, we are the same old Rangers. You really have to appreciate a guy like Keenan who would bench Jesus in the third period if he wasn't playing well. Keenan was the last coach who made everybody accountable.

Relax it's only preseason..

however it's alarming to see the reason why we lost yesterday was because of discipline (bad penalties). No one saw the game but It's very obvious what went wrong last night...I just hope it's obvious to our head coach. Here's the summary - mid way through the second period and we are up 3-0, so far so good....then some rough stuff happens @ the 12:23 mark. Ott from Dallas gets sent off for roughing while 3 Rangers get sent off on the same play (Barnaby/Roughing, Simon/Boarding, Mironov/Roughing) - Goal Dallas while up 2 men and a delayed penalty on Poti for holding the stick. Then Mironov takes a Hooking penalty @ 16:04. The Rangers kill the penalty but Dallas goes on to score 3 goals in the last minute of the third period. Hockey is a game where momentum is key and the Rangers lost all momentum that they had when they started taking penalties mid way through the second period. You can work on a system until your blue in the face but if you spend 1/2 a period down 2 men you're not going to win many games.

i have to admit, poti takes some of the weakest/pathetic/illtimed penalties sometimes.

Holding the stick, hooking, tripping, etc.

maybe if he took his man out he wouldnt have to use last ditch effort moves.
