I thought he played pretty well all things considered.. really stupid that he is playing on the PK and not the PP though. He created some chances but kept doing this thing where he cut through the middle and dropped it to the trailing guy, I thought a couple times he should have kept it and drove to the net for a shot. Any way, next game is on at 2pm on TSN

Duchene has been noticeable this period, he has been pretty explosive.

He had a couple of opportunities, I didn't like the drop pass on a 2-2 during a pk but he did come back and save a goal defensively. I thought he was solid overall.

Pretty ****ing stupid that he's not on the pp but superstars like Ritchie are.

That was the other guys fault who tried to deke but turned it over. And it was a really brutal attempt at a deke as well.

That other guy was Jason Spezza. Didn't like his game yesterday and also today... feel like he does not give full effort, also the last couple of league games I saw from him

Hmm I thought it was him for sure but if it was indeed Spezza then that's a classic Spezza move drop pass on the blue, that leads to a turnover.

After rewinding it and re-watching that play, it was Spezza who set it up with some nice moves in his own zone which led to him passing it to Duchene. After that, Duchene dropped it for Spezza once he got past the blueline and it was Spezza who tried to deke past that defender but turned it over instead.

Imagine if that went in! It would have been better than his goal against the Pens last season.

Never heard of this Mikflikier guy until now. He actually has put up solid points at every level he's played.

I thought the line was great today, quick and hard to control for Davos.

I'm just watching the Spengler Cup Semi-Final replay right now (on TSN). Dutch looks way more comfortable and confident out there than he looked all last year. He is using his linemates again, and he is making moves to make room for himself rather than just for the sake of doing it. This lockout may be the best thing for Duchene in the long run. It seems all three of our C's are doing pretty good overseas.

How is Stastny doing? I haven't heard anything since it first came out he was going to Germany.

His +/- rating is good considering the quality of team he's playing for and 18 points in 12 games is a really good scoring output in the DEL, Jamie Benn for instance has 20 points in 19 games (and he's playing on a much better team), Giroux has 19 points in 9 games, Wheeler (Paulie's linemate) has 19 points in 14 games and Briere has 34 in 21 games. Briere and Giroux are playing together for the Berlin Eisbaren.

You're right.

He also looked pretty good on the PK, I hope he further develops that part of his game and becomes a great two-way players he was projected to be before the draft. There's just no reason for him not to be an impact player on the defensive side of the game given his natural talents and the way he played both in the juniors and in his rookie year in the NHL.
