Then again, some people here hate Markov for simply getting hurt.
quoted for truth....so sad.

PLAYOFFS...I've seen way way more from Subban and Gorges already VS Markov's entire history of playoff performances with our Habs.
(Subban and Gorges give their everything in playoffs...saw absolutely none of that from Markov...Mr.Invisible in playoffs).

Markov in his prime ( approx. 4 years ago?!)...imo top 10 or top 15 in NHL for the regular season (not for playoffs), but again...that was a long long time ago (and that was only for 2 seasons of excellence in regular season...we're not talking about 5-6 seasons).

In the end...Markov is still a Hab, so I hope he can still help our Habs, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
What are you talking about,

In 2005-2006, Markov was top 15
2006-2007, Markov was top top 15 if not top 10
2007-2008, Markov was top 5
2008-2009, Markov was top 5
2009-2010, Markov when playing was top 5

That's 4 years and a half of elite hockey and I'm not just talking about points btw.

Even Don Cherry likes Markov... I can't wait to have him back in the lineup.

He did make Komisarek look good. Thats quite an achievement.

1. Markov was not bad when he played in the playoffs, he just played a very low risk game and concentrated on defense. Similar to Plekanec. So he was not spectacular but instrumental in shutting down opponents so other lines can exploit.

2. Replace Markov with another Gorges during all those years and we might have no playoffs to talk about and a lot of top10 prospects, if you get my meaning. Making the playoffs is just as important as looking good in them.

Forsead says it all. Markov's time with the Habs gets underrated like crazy.

Besides the prime of defensemen starts at 28yrs old, it doesn't stop there. They are often at the top of their game until quite late in their 30ies. Of course I know its sin on HFboards to mention 30+ yr old players are extremely important, a lot of people here think these guys are automatically washed up and nothing more than cap dumps.

I kept looking at this thread to see something like that... I hope it's minor and an injury to an arm or something but I can't say I'm even slightly surprised at this sort of news.

Can we please leave the overreactions for when we know more? Markov has left games injured before and after the ACL issues, this could be nothing or he could have been mortally injured and on his body is on its way to be cremated right now.

#Habs defenseman A. Markov suffers injury in KHL. Severity or nature unknown. Was escorted off the ice by a doctor.

Of course, only speculation....but it doesnt look good...

I lol'd too when I heard that. If it's a knee, it's getting ridiculous...

Guess he won't stay in the KHL even if it's a short lock-out after all

So I wonder if he will be allowed access to the Habs medical staff and facilities since this happened post lockout. My guess is no.
