Big shame that Jessica Ennis couldn't make it.

Mo Farrah show starts.

Trinidad's Kelly-Ann Baptiste (defending 100 meter bronze medalist) tested postive for banned substance, leaves Moscow.

As any other attendance except Spartak - CSKA derby in Moscow. Only forced marketing can lure more people here.

Why not host it somewhere that would actually sell out? Lyon had poor attendance recently for the Paralympic event. London would've sold out in a day.

Better in the evening session than morning. I assume there will be more on Sunday evening for the men's 100 meter final.

The attendance is quite embarrassing. It's the 100m final and at least half the stadium is empty. If not even Usain Bolt can get people to show up, who can ?

You can only hope, it'll be better at the olympics next year.

Chinese Zhang Peimeng just ran a blank 10.00 second 100M, 00.01 s short of becoming the first East Asian to break the 10 second barrier.

Nope. Lemaitre apparently also ran a 10 blank but crossed the line first.

Just saw, that Jelena Isinbajewa is also competing today, which makes today's attendence even more embarrassing considering thatthis might be Isinbajewa last big competition.

Raining now at the stadium so don't expect any good times for the 100 m final.

And the legacy of Bolt grows even greater...

Sadly it seems like Lemaitre got injured, would have liked to see him in the 200m.

Apparently the organizers sold around 80% of the available tickets, but according to unofficial reports only half of the seats in the stadium went to public sale. The rest went to sponsors, who now can't get rid of the tickets, especially not for the morning competitions.
