I've just bought a cheap Playstation 2 from Ebay, it should be here in the next few days. I'm under the impression that it won't have a VGA cable or box included so I've been researching about it. As I would prefer to use a monitor than a TV.
At first I was tempted by the 'Hi-Resolution VGA Adaptor' by Blaze. However, I've just seen some negative comments on some sites and
Amazon. They say it's not compatible with most games.
So now I'm stuck at what to do because there are
four other options to go for. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does your adaptor or box work with most (if not all) games?
What do I do with sound? Obviously I lose the sound from the TV as a monitor doesn't do this, so does a box/adaptor come with a slot to attach some speakers into? (like a Dreamcast does) Or can I attach speakers to the actual Playstation 2?
Please note apart from a Dreamcast I have absolutely no knowledge on consoles and their accessories, so any help or advice on this would be extremely helpful.
I found it a lot easier dealing with a VGA cable for the Dreamcast because there was only one option.
Works perfectly and is really clear, which was a complete surprise.
