Very disappointing for Slovak/Slovan fans. Looks like Slovan management overslept.

I don't think so. Both sides made good decisions. Slovan signed Ľubo Višňovský. It was a clear move, because Ľubo already is a legend of Slovan. Then Slovan didn't want to wait until other Slovak NHL players signed elsewhere and Slovan signed Andrej Sekera. We didn't hear anything about Zdeno Chára two weeks ago. Now Slovan need no other defender. They need some forward and especially centerman.

Chára signed with Lev Praha. He played in Prague at the end of his junior career. He will have 7 other Slovak team-mates and he won't be far from home.

BTW Not all Slovak fans care about Chára's decision so much and you know why

That's why I'm saying Slovan management seems to have overslept. They should have approached Zdeno actively. Sekera is outstanding, but not Chára's caliber (in 2012, anyway). Also, Sekera hasn't played a single game so far. In fact, it looks like Chára may play his first KHL game sooner than Sekera! The chronology you mention then falls apart. (On a similar note, Višňovský has now missed 3 straight games, so that Slovan played the entire road trip without any NHL reinforcements.)

OK That's right. However I still don't think Slovan made a bad move. I know the best shutdown defenceman in the world will play for the rival of Slovan. On the other side Slovan have one of the best skating defenders' group in KHL right now (Višňovský, Sekera, Štajnoch, Sigalet). On the european size of KHL rinks it can be a good deal for Slovan.

Dynamo Moscow won the Gagarin cup last season and their roster wasn't the best in the league. That's for sure. However IMO It was definitely the best skating team in KHL last year.

Yeah and Zdeno Chára will make a new KHL record too . This time changed circumstances of the competition in KHL in contrast with NHL won't help to regular KHL guys .

In my estimation, Slovan management can only make up for missing out on Chára by signing an absolute superstar as their 3rd NHL reinforcement. Like, Dustin Brown. (Hossa or Gáborík would be great, but they're still recovering from injuries.)

The main reason we weren't able to make offer to Chara are finances. We don't have enough money to pay his insurance.

That's just your theory, or if it's a fact, do you have a link to confirm this?
