Ryan Murray out for WJC and big chunk of season (surgery)

Ryan Murray looks extremely doubtful for WJC and possibly big chunk, if not all of, season. Small tear in (shoulder) labrum. Surgery likely.

Murray will fly to CBJ this weekend to consult with Blue Jacket doctors. But initial prognosis doesn't look great. We'll see, though.
No kidding. Watch the season get cancelled and them not ever receive a top ten pick, even though they own three other teams picks (and by extension the most balls of any team in a lottery).
CBJ just can't seem to catch a break. Murray is an important part, or would've been an important part to Canada's WJ team, but Canada has more then enough capable defensemen depth to push some guys up the latter a bit. Guys such as Corrado who had a slight chance to make it, now have a bigger chance.
Also, for the question of who would be the worst player to lose for the WJ team, I think it would be Huberdeau for sure. I think this WJ team is going to revolve around how he, and how a few others play because of their experience and leadership, whether it be from past WJC's, or Memorial Cup runs, and wins.
Blows for Canada. Murray is a great, great player.
Also, color me utterly and completely shocked to see a Canucks fan bring up Frank Corrado within the first 12 posts.
I just didn't want to list all of the players that we have kicking around that could crack the defense, and Corrado is the one I'm most familiar with. You got my point though.
Man, you really have to feel for Jackets fans. Hopefully this won't do too much to harm his development, it might even light a fire under him to get back in the game harder than before.
In the grand scheme of things the World Juniors doesn't mean much compared to preparing oneself for the NHL, and, at the risk of being cliched, there's always next year.

What did you expect.
A player who has been playing excellent hockey for the past two season, having elevated his play this year, and performed tremendously over the past month or so (including the SSS).
Not too mention his skating ability and how useful it would be on the international ice.
He's a good player. A better two-wAy guy than others that people have locked into their lineups.

Steve Spott being more familiar with Corrado then say, another defensemen in the WHL could play a big factor as well.
Thats too bad, he'd have been valuable. Fortunately Canada has an abundance of capable defensemen available to offset the loss of one of their leaders.

It's a thing with me. Every time something like this happens, Canucks fans bring up Corrado as fast as they can. Nobody else does that with a non-blue chip prospect like Canucks fans do with Corrado.

HAHA. I expect to see lots of Corrado postings leading up the WJC. He's definitely blue chip.
