But he was traded for full value, so it's completely plausible that DW figured out that he was junk and traded him before he lost value. Regardless, it's a good reminded that we should stop screaming bloody murder every time we trade a prospect.

Yeah, too unrealistic.

That was questionable at the time.

It was the Wishart over Vlasic thing that was killin me.

It was never questionable, it was straight up sad.

But yeah, I get your point.

That trade ended up being huge for the Sharks. Say what you want about Carle but I still think he's not that good. Even the 1st round pick ended up being traded and was wasted on a non-impact player. DW is a master of trades (well offseason trades...trade deadline trades are kinda meh).

Technically it ended up being Kyle Palmieri, who's a stud prospect, but I'd rather have Boyle than Palmieri (I'm sure Carle would have walked, Wishart was a bust).

That wasn't exactly the reasoning, so that's not really fair. The reasoning was we cannot likely keep both Murray and Vlasic long term and at the time Vlasic was showing no signs of progress.

He followed that up by having an incredible season and proving the doubters (myself included) completely wrong, but it's pretty fair to say he'd stagnated for quite a long time prior to that. Good for him though. Also, I was personally proposing Comeau for Murray straight up, or Vlasic for Comeau + Bailey. Still, i wouldn't do that trade now of course. Hindsight.

I didn't look through the whole thread, but I don't remember it being half the board. One or two posters at most.

It still should've been Murray as the odd-man out just considering age. And in all fairness, Vlasic showed good progress in 08-09 and 09-10 (until his injury). People seemed to have soured on him just because of the 10-11 season, and that wasn't his fault. He was paired with Wallin for a good portion of that season.
Comeau and Bailey for Vlasic was still a bad trade then, but back then, I was willing to do Vlasic for Okposo (better, but bad now) so I guess I shouldn't really be talking.

It was just announced on the radio during the Worcester game that Mashinter has been traded to the NYR for Tommy Grant and a cond. 7th in 2014...that explains why he hasn't been playing.

Is Grant anything but an AHL plug?

He's likely a career AHLer.

Hey Thunder fans. I'm thinking about trekking out to Stockton on Sunday to see the Bulls. Should I get the tickets online or would I be safe walking up to the ticket counter?

You can get tickets, but they probably won't be very close seats. Although there aren't really that many bad seats there anyway. The place feels tiny... in a good way.

We actually just bought tickets for a Thunder game all the way next month. Granted, it is Star Wars night; so they tend to sell out.

BTW- Sunday night is Family Day. So be ready for a full-on Romper Room experience. Seriously.

With Urban's call up to Worcester, he's been replaced in ECHL all star roster.

We're all hoping the WorSharks sign him to a SPC...maybe even one for next season too.

Even with the two signings today (haven't heard about Kennedy, yet), there's still space to sign him to NHL deal.
