I'd love to see him get a full-tim starting job in Worcester. I think the org's goalie situation is pretty clear: Greiss isn't re-signed, Stalock backs up Niemi, Sateri has the AHL starting job.

I agree. Sateri is a full season (and maybe a little more) away from being NHL ready. With Stalock, he's not ready to be an NHL #1 yet but if he were the back-up playing 20-25% of the games I'd be comfortable with that.

With some sort of Anderson/Heemskerk combination possibly backing him up...that's just about penned into next year's roster I think.

Quite a (/lucky) weekend for Stalock, he looked nearly unbeatable in his back to back wins.

Strange how the puck just finds the back of the net sometimes as the skaters didn't look very good yesterday. Hopefully Stalberg's goal will help him get back on track, he's got the skillset to be a very good scorer in the AHL if he can get his mindset right.

Also, I still can't believe that Viedensky was cast off to the ECHL. He's been great since his 're-call' and he should be a very useful player at both ends of the ice and on the PK down the stretch.

It took two great shots to beat Stalock this weekend. He was in tip-top form this weekend, and he needed to be yesterday because for 40 minutes the WorSharks were AWFUL.

I've asked about Viedensky before and all I get a mumbling kinds of answer about numbers and playing time...none that really make all that much sense to me considering how tough it's been to score goals for most of the season.

According to the Bulls 'beat' writer Gourde is heading to San Francisco. I actually think this is good for him as he should be able put up some point totals in the ECHL, help his confidence.

He has the skill to play in the AHL, but for some reason he's doing absolutely nothing of what we saw at the end of last season.

Bulls put Reddin on waivers (clearing space for Gourde I guess).

I agree. Hopefully he treats this move the same way Tarasov did.

Do you feel that the lack of NHL prospect forwards at Worcester is mainly because of the quality of players drafted by the Sharks or is the coaching/development partly (or more than that) responsible for this as well.

Seems like the Worcester players this year are regressing just like the SJ players. Stalberg, Gourde, etc.

Smart move by the Sharks. Gourde needs to build his the confidence. He's been too unsure of himself. Too much passing instead of shooting, stopping/curling back instead of trying to blow by someone. He has the talent in him, but he needs the ice time and a chance to work out the kinks.

(I think he needs to get away from Roy )

There are 3 forwards on the Worcester Sharks that were drafted by the team, none earlier than the 5th round. I mentioned this two years ago and again last year, there was/is going to be a gap in forward talent in the org due to many factors, one being their draft position, another the lack of draft picks (due to trades), another is prospect trades.

There are several more forwards that were signed as UFA's by the org and while none of them are lighting it up in the AHL I'm not so sure any were expected to. A couple look to have NHL level talent but will need AHL time.

Top that all off with very iffy coaching from Sommer and here we are.

I think they don't draft particularly well and they don't develop top line talent very well when it comes to forwards

Just look at Worcester roster...on defense there are five legitimate prospects, plus Urban and Comrie could turn into steals in the next couple seasons. No need to talk about goaltending as SJ has that covered for the foreseeable future.

So what the heck is up with the forwards? Hamilton and Viedensky are essentially the same player, while both might have NHL futures only one will be in SJ. Reid made a huge jump this season but his future is still far from certain. Pelech looks to be the goon of the future...

...and then nothing.

No NHL top six players on Worcester's roster. McCarthy is going to be an expensive captain for Worcester next season as he's on a one way deal. I love the effort from Livingston, but he's not NHL talent. The cupboard is bare when it comes to forwards, and next year likely won't be much better.

Havlat and Wingels are questionable, Pelech could be back here tomorrow at this rate.

The only way you won't see him in SJ is if you don't watch, because he will be recalled again at some point.

Oh for god's sake, he made a couple rookie mistakes. Don't crucify him after one game.
