Big changes to the blue line such as four players will take a team a while to adjust to. Plus you have all those new bodies upfront. I'd guess it will take the a while for them to get in sync.

My guess is most of them kinda know how to play hockey ...they should at least get the basic stuff right and through last Saturday's game that was not happening.

He's in the ECHL playing for the Alaska Aces.

Like 210 said, he's not looked out of place, but he definitely needs more time to adjust and he hasn't been a force or anything.

He's almost a null offensive player, so I wouldn't judge him by what he's done points-wise in the ECHL.

Yeah but 210, think about what you are saying. What exactly is it that you think Sommer, or any coach for that matter, does? Its gotta be quite a bit more complicated than you are implying here otherwise what would be the point of calling for Sommer's head?

To get overly deep They may know how to play hockey but do they know how to play it together?

I didn't say they were having problems with teamwork, I said they were having problems with fundamentals. Things like "don't pass the puck to a guy that has two opponents covering him" or "gain the red line before dumping it in for a line change"...you know, all the stuff that they teach you well before you make it to this level.

Agreed. They're making the kinds of mistakes that I only occasionally make in my beer league. It's painful to watch.

I was actually pretty impressed with Oleksuk's play through the firist 4 games. He seemed to just about always be in the right place on both sides of the ice, he was creating chances and the Stalberg-Sheppard-Oleksuk line (when it was together) was pretty dominant.

This past weekend, he looked a a bit lost on Friday and I didn't watch Saturday's game.

One thing to keep in mind with Oleksuk is that he's used to 40 game seasons and unlike Stalberg and Tennyson, he finished up school last season instead of going to Worcester so as 210 said, he's still getting used to the pro game.

Just my two cents.

Certainly an exciting game to watch the WorSharks play tonight down in Providence. First road win dating back to March of last season. Bracken Kearns is proving himself a solid offseason signing with 2Gs and a lot of strong play. Also, in my completely unprofessional opinion might be the best game I've ever seen Petrecki play.

When you say "best", do you mean he's played better than his usually cruddy self or do you mean he's showing off his potential at last.

He's not playing perfect but he's going in the right direction, for once. A nice solid and physical game without making every idiotic mistake, ever. The fact that I'm even paying him a compliment is a big testament to how much better he's looked, I promise.

It took a few games of him playing well for me to warm up to the idea.
