It's hard to live in the Pittsburgh area and not visit Hofbrahause at least once. And if you haven't, I highly recommend it. For those of you who have then I'm sure you know what the shotski is...4 shot glasses attached to a wooden ski.

I present to you the slap-shotski.

I went to Hofbrahause when I visited Pittsburgh for Steelers game last month. Awesome bar. Definitely recommended for those who haven't been to this place.

Dude you must be old if you "don't get it". I totally... like totally get it.

First, you raise the slapshotski to the Gods so that they may bless your drink. Then you get the three hot chics that are with you to stand under the slapshotski (limbo style if necessary), then you pour the drink down their gullets and get them sauced up for the after-party. Or something.

Then, it's on!

(How'm I doin' youngsters... do I sound like an old guy trying to be young? )

its a shotski. It is pretty common. He just did it with a hockey stick.

Its easy to just say you don't want a shot, but when its lined up and going to get spilled if someone doesn't take it, someone will always take it I don't know, its fun. Solidarity and all that.

Hofbrauhaus made the shotski famous. It's a good time.

Your location says Toronto, so I assume you've never been to Hofbrahause. If you get the chance, go to one so you would know what this is.

And no I didn't tape shot glasses to my stick.

I went there a lot when I was in college. To be honest, the food sucks, is vastly overpriced and unless you're hammered it's not much fun.

Having said that, yea I got hammered there last Friday. Fun time.

One does not simply walk into Hofbrauhaus looking for good food.

Obviously they are not famous for their food. I had the pretzels and bier cheese. While good, it wasn't ZOMG amazing but it was better than other places that serve a similar item. The rest of the stuff on their menu I haven't tried. For what it is, it's overpriced in my opinion and from what I've heard from friends it's rather hit and miss. Even when it was a hit, it wasn't like it was five-star good.

Now the rest of it - the beers, the beer hall, the beer garden, etc. - that's why people show up. Me, I like going to the lower level and having a beer or two outside when the weather is nice, maybe trying a seasonal before I cash out. The beer hall is a favorite to most. Personally it's my least favorite part. I hate closed in spaces where you can't move and the fratboy crowd that floods the place after 7-8 on a weekend. Plus the acoustics are terrible, which causes everything that is loud to be 50x louder (damn you high ceilings [shakes fist]).

what he said. outside is the best part. inside was fun with a group of college friends, but I'm pretty much over that at this stage.
