Johnny Mac, then Captain Kirk.

Add Sykora, I guess.

MacLean. Add Arnott.

(I'll probably vote for Parise over Arnott, but I still have to really look at that.)

Next poll should be the most interesting one so far.

Muller was also the captain. I think he should be in over MacLean, to be perfectly honest.
Muller also played in a much higher scoring era than Kovalchuk. It's tough to compare those numbers to each other. I'm not discounting his ability though, he definitely deserves to be in the top 10 and he is my next vote.

I'm not sure if I should be surprised at Kovy being #2 in ppg. It's somewhat shocking, but also somewhat expected.

no doubt from here on there will be some disagreements. the top were pretty self explanatory. i think it would be great if people could give reasons going forward for their choices. it would help some of the fans to learn a bit more about the past players they might not have had the chance to see.

I think people underestimate Holik's importance to this franchise. Muller is definitely soon, but I'm going to be voting for Holik until he's on the list.

Holik was going to be my vote for #7 as well. One of the greatest shutdown players of all time.

He's also 5th all time in points, 3rd in goals, and 8th in games played as a Devil. He was our best shutdown centerman of all time (beating out Madden, Carpenter, and Zajac), and was key in two of our three championships.

After this it gets tough. It's my personal hope that Driver, Holik, Muller and Brylin all make the top 10 list, but I could someone making arguments for any of Langenbrunner, Parise, Madden, Kovalchuk (too soon?), Gionta, and even Gomez.

For me, it's (7) Holik, (8) Muller, (9) Driver. After that, for me it starts getting really, really hard.

I think I wanna do this too, but maybe I'll put Lemieux first. Not sure yet.

Like I said I was sad when Claude was shipped out, and I never liked Steve Thomas. I made Colorado my second favorite team when Claude was out there. It was fun watching their 96 Cup run the year we missed the playoffs.

It was awesome when he came back to us in 99 for Rolston to Colorado. He wasn't as big of a contributor on the scoresheet in 00, but he was involved in some clutch moments as always, and brought great veteran leadership too.

Reason I'm going with Holik over Lemieux is because of how important Holik was in being able to defensively shut down top opponents with his size, physical play, and hockey sense and ability to put the puck in the net and feed his wingers - that series against the Pens in 00-01, he McKay and I believe Madden was on that line, shut Mario and Jagr down to a combined 3 points in that 5 game series

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but was Brylin really that important? He won 3 Cups, I get that, but was he really that instrumental in the dynasty?

he was the quintessential role player that could fill in anywhere in the forward lineup if need be. it takes guys like him to win cups. 100% true devil

I think Brylin deserves a spot. He was a career Devil and easily the least assuming of the five players that were on all 3 cup teams. His play epitomizes hockey and his versatility and underdogged-ness can almost be a metaphor for the Devils as a franchise. He's not the guy anyone remembers, but he was always there doing the little things right. The fact that he was a Devil from start to finish, in my opinion, places him ahead of guys like Madden and Pandolfo and McKay and the like who were just as instrumental to the success of their teams.

If you're a Devils fan and you don't remember Sarge, you're not a Devils fan. Forgotten by other teams fans, sure, but never by Devils fans. The fact that he will be relatively low on the list (7 or lower) is not a slight against him or an indication that he's been forgotten, but rather a testament to how many great players this team has produced over it's relatively short lifespan.
