30 isn't some magic age when players stop being good. I'd say once guys get close to 35 they really start slowing down which is why I don't believe Urlacher has anything left. Plus you need to take a look at the roster, there are lots of young guys out there. McClellin, Wooten, Paea, Melton, and Okoye are all 26 or younger, the entire secondary and linebacking core is under 30 except for Tillman and Briggs who are only 31.

The offense has been up and down this year. They had a few really good games (Jax, Dal, Ind), 2 pretty meh games (StL and Detroit) and 1 bad game (GB). The Detroit game is a hard one to gage because of Cutler's injury.

The bears defense didn't really have a bad game against the packers. They held them to 16 offensive points I believe it was, and that's when Cutler threw all those interceptions. I'd say for the amount of time they were on the field, and GB being one of the most explosive offenses in the league, the Bears defense still had a fairly solid game.

I meant the offense had a bad game

You seem to be the type of guy who gets hung up on stats. Statistically, week 1 was their best game, but week 1 wasn't their best game IMO. Week 1 they got lucky that Dwight Freeny went down, because the O-Line was sucking. I think their best game may have been Week 4 at the Cowboys.

As far as improvements, I think the O-Line is passblocking a bit better each week (including Webb) and their Run Blocking is finally coming around. They are figuring out how to get Marshall open even when teams try to double-cover him, and I think that Tice is getting better at playcalling. But they haven't arrived yet.

You say "we" a lot, but you sure don't strike me as a Bears fan. Or, if you are, you sure are a panicky one. I made a rather long post a couple pages back about my thoughts on the Bears offense. I'd suggest you read it. That summarizes anything I could say, and it basically says "don't get hung up on stats or worry about the offense until the regular season starts coming to a close." They have a LOT to learn still, and probably won't take huge steps forward until next year (after having a season in this offense under their belt). But if they can get things down by the playoffs, they will be good for a run, and IMO they DO have that time, assuming they win Sunday and a week from Sunday.

Actually, for Running Backs, that kind of is the magical age where they stop being effective. But for many other positions on either side of the ball, that doesn't really hold true.

There is a number of carries that people point to when it comes to running backs. I know its 400 touches in a season but there is some amount of career carries where running backs break down but I can't find it now.

I never knew the career carries threshold, but I do know that RB's production drop off significantly after they hit 30. Also, I thought that most RBs after getting 300 carries in a season usually struggle the next year (although a few always prove that to be more of a guideline)

The actual number is 370.

Why wouldn't you root for Tampa Bay?

Would you rather have Minnesota 6-2 and Tampa Bay 2-5 or Minnesota 5-3 and Tampa Bay 3-4?

No, I'm saying that it's almost totally futile. Tampa is so unreliable.

Not NFL, but Tyrann Mathieu was caught with weed again. Say goodbye to the NFL, clown.

I don't understand why he could not put the weed down since he had a shot to play in the NFL. He was warned six times, got suspended, had a chance for reinstatement, and now seems to still not be mature. What an absolute idiot.

Ask Ricky Williams. I for one think it's stupid to be banned for weed but that's me. I wonder how that works if you have a script.

He could have just waited until the end of his career.

Also, it looks like the real Vikings are starting to show their colors. Man is their offense putrid.

While I think Minnesota is a pretender, I didn't expect the Bucs to be in this game as much as they are. Keep it goin!

Percy Harvin with 16+ points in he first half is good for my fantasy team. Hopefully he can repeat the half enroute to a Vikings loss.
