Perhaps everyone is sick of talking about it, but I find it interesting that some posters take a staunch position for either owners or players through the lock-out. I'm wondering how much whether posters are themselves business owners or employees plays a part of this.

Employee.

Don't support the players year of essentially doing nothing and expecting sympathy.

Employee/starving student(does this count?)

Don't support either side, both handling this like jackwagons however, on the side, barely of the owners if I had to choose.

I feel the pain most for those who's livelyhood is threatened by empty arenas for an additional 40+ nights, player or owner A,B or C can whine all they want, how about the man/woman who's rent/mortgage being paid is reliant on those home dates???

...

Both deserve blame for not being able to cooperate on a deal. But the PA is the only side to have made any concessions, so they have earned SOME sympathy from me.

I'll gladly refer those to this:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...ter-to-players

And they can tell me how the players are showing a propensity toward "greed." They can tell me why the offered deal is unfair to the NHL.

I am an employee and support the owners.

Have trouble with players doing nothing or jetting over to Europe to play while this is happening and feeling sorry for them.

I agree. I don't like that either. And I don't like the reluctance to negotiate during the season. And I don't like Donald Fehr.

Do those cards trump being the only side who has given anything to the other? If so, why?

As soon as the players said they didn't want to negotiate during the season last year so they could all be there and then they all bolted to Europe was when I sided with the owners.

I'm for the players.. they're whiney little *****es of course.. but so are the owners. The whole "making the game better for everyone involved" malarchy will be proven since when this present cba is finally reached and they give out the expiration of that cba. You can mark on your calender another lockout by the owners. Yes i know they put a lot of risks monetary wise owning a team. But they knew that going in. The excuses i've heard from them and pro-owner crowd has been hilarious. But then again.. the excuses from the likes Derrick Roy and then buying a brand new.. what like 80k car is also pretty ridiculous. If there was an option of "i'm an employee and i see side with being a fan" i obviously would've taken that.

I'm far more nausiated by the daily comment from random players. Some seem far more "in the loop" than others, unfortunately, the loudest one's present themselves and their side so poorly I just wish they'd shut their pie holes.

neither side gets my support. However I do take more issue with the PA as they were approached to start negotiations in the summer (perhaps earlier as well) and declined. Not a sign of a side that wants to get deal inked.

Agreed. I've said several times that both sides are just blathering on and on. Just shut up, stop tweeting or going to the media and sit down. But the owners have came off as the kid who hasn't gotten his way so he's gonna take his ball and go home. This is all a territorial pissing match between rich people for the most part.

I'm for Shawn Thornton.

I look forward to all those who are pro-owner giving Bettman a standing ovation the next time he shows up at TD Garden. "Thanks for the lockout, Gary! Great job!"

Not that i promote players *****ing on twitter or what not. But from a quick google search i found out he's making $700,000. I know thats a ******** of money for you and me, but i rather here remarks from him than a guy making 3 or 4 million a year.
