Fomitchev sounds solid too. Is he still Oilers property?

Mikhnov's trip up and down the Oilers prospect list could make a great book. If he turns into an NHL player, speeds is the ONLY fan who can claim he kept the faith. Good for Mikhnov, I hope he scores a bunch this winter and gets out of Libor Noborivisk, which sounds like a really cold place.

Then he should feel quite comfortable in Planet Hoth then.

Wow. He's looking really good - on the scoresheet regularly and getting some nods for his powerful style. Get this kid over here so we can have a look, please!

I too have always had faith in him. He has all kinds of ability IMO. He just needs to get his huge ass over here so he can learn the N.A. game (which I think would suit him better then the Euro game). If he comes over before it's to late (Dopita) I think he'll be a solid top six power forward. I just hope he gets the hell over here soon!!

his situation is nothing like that of Dopita, the guy is only 21 after all.

He's younger than Stoll, for example.

Mikhnov's stats on the year:

3 GP 2G 1A for 3 pts.

his team has played 4 games, so I'm not sure if he's injured now, or what the story was.

So noted. Speeds, thanks for the update. It's also a helpful reminder for me that patience is indeed a virtue! Here's hoping Miknov can keep up his inspired play and find his way one day to the Oilers top lines.

Yes, but you weren't on this message-board a couple of years ago when we dubbed Mikhnov "Tractor-Boy".

hadn't really noticed that Fomitchev is also Sibir's goalie, and has tossed 2 shutouts up in his first 4 games.

Not even sure if he's still Oilers property, Guy, can you find out for us?

Maybe ask Prendergast if he's still in the long term plans, if he's still Oilers property ???

***another point re: Mikhnov-sorry if it gets repetitive, but I keep finding new stuff as I'm looking around***

He's listed as 195cm, and 104 kg.

Which translates to about 6'4.75", 228 lbs. Not really your typical small Oilers forward

I am pretty excited about how well he is doing down there. Hopefully in the next few years he will come over here and learn the NA game.

Also, it seem like Fomitchev is still our property. At least according the that link.

Edmonton Oilers prospect Alexei Mikhnov appears to be coming into his own this season. He played very well in this contest, fighting hard for the puck and using his body on the attack. Towards the end of the second period, he made a nice feed to Yegor Shastin (Calgary Flames), who connected for a goal. Both goalies played a great game, but Edmonton Oilers prospect back stopper, Fomichev, got the upper hand, earning a shutout and the top star honors in this great effort. For his efforts, Mikhnov was the only skater to earn a star in this contest.
