I hate when I'm taking a lecture and the professor has a hard time talking in English.

I mean who pronounces catastrophe bond "catastroaf bond"? (like "cata" and then "stroaf" (you know like in meat loaf)).

Pretty common for universities.

I had a professor that said 'Dater' instead of Data. Several other words he regularly mis-pronounced, but I can't remember anymore and didn't care in the end because he was cool enough to bump me up a letter grade when I bombed his final. His e-mail read, and I quote, "I can tell you really grasped the information in my class and although you had a poor final exam grade I feel you earned a B in my class".

Never ever take Biostatistics if you can avoid it. If you can and do take it, you've been warned.

Congrats, I did too

I'll be working with PCL Constructors in Calgary from the beginning of January to the end of April.

Are there many Calgarians on here?

Also I feel like the lockout has killed my interest on these boards, I find myself visiting much less frequently and when I do I rarely post any more.

How many other languages do you know well enough to teach a college course?

My fiancee's still learning advanced language. She's from Europe. Not so easy. She struggles with a lot of it and I think she's brilliant to know two languages so interchangeably well.

I could teach with 3 languages, though I would have to prepare being a teacher/professor first . They have an unfair advantage in that sense .
I'm trilingual, but being able to speak Swedish/Finnish does squat globally.

You don't need to save any, it goes back to 50 when a new event is created if you're at 0.

As a P.G. boy and die hard Cougars fan it's in my blood to hate the Blazers. The streak better be over tomorrow night.

So...

I've really only had a couple of really serious relationships. And before the current relationship I'm in right now, I had a rather rocky exit from the last one.

To make it a long story short, the ex was messing around on me, and she ultimately chose the other guy over me...it's not a huge deal now (the girl I'm currently with is fantastic), and plus I was all of 19 or 20 at the time.

But I just found out that the guy she left me for, and subsequently broke up with within the last year or 2, DIED on 10/27/12, from an apparent car accident!

I'm quite shaken by this, because I knew the guy, we worked together, and I always thought that on a whole he was a good guy, he just performed a dick move not ensuring that me and my ex were broken up before moving in on her.

But ultimately he WAS a nice guy...it's just an odd occurrence.

****.... My last relationship was the same story. Except he didn't die.

That's rough though.

If you have more Vcash than someone your argument is more credible.
