Any Pittsburgh wanted, multiple multiple pieces, have Sid fake an injury for the season, use AHL team to fill in, tank, draft MacKinnon, convert to wing...profit.
Bozak, Komi and a second.
The Pens get an elite number one center to fill the void left by the missing crosby along with a former all star defenseman poised for a rebound season.
I'd be open to throwing in another piece but Gardiner is off limits. That's kids going to be big.
seriously though... I'm guessing something based around someone like Stamkos would be the only thing that could even get the Pens thinking about it.
Kessel + Kulemin + Phaneuf would likely be the starting point. They'll want our best forward in Kessel, they will likely want Kulemin so he can play with Malkin and they'll probably want a #2 defenseman to play with Letang. I'd imagine they would also want a center coming back who can play the third line because Sutter will move to the second so throw in Tyler Bozak as well. Just for *****, I'd imagine they'd want one of Rielly/Gardiner to top it off.
Oh, and they'd probably make us take Martin to relieve some cap space.
In other words, the Leafs would be ****ed even if they acquired Crosby.
Gunnarsson - Martin
Komisarek - Liles
Fraser - Holzer
Dat defense...
The offense isn't actually as bad as I envisioned, still have solid center depth. The success of the Leafs would be largely hinged on our prospects developing into what they were drafted to be. The defense on the other hand is a disaster.

Letang >> Edler. Edler is UFA, and might never play a game for the Pens, so Letang >>>>> Edler.
Crosby >>>>>>I cant even put enough>>>>> Henrik
Please.
Well then your Spezza offer doesn't come close, if Crosby has that many '>' over Henrik(despite him getting more points for 3 straight seasons). And it was more based as a pure hockey trade than anything so so complicated as to include contract status.
