I enjoy watching these vintage games again, gives another perspective so many years later.

Watching Lafleur raise the level of his game with the season on the line in third period of that game, the way only a handful who ever laced them up could, was a sight to behold.

Boston knew it and Cherry tried to control it but Lafluer just took over and they could do nothing about it

What was incredible also was the Hab defense. Robinson, LaPointe, Savard, and a young Langway. Four Hall of Fame Dmen.

The speed of the game was a snail's pace compared to now. I wonder if somebody ever studied the top speed of players then and now.

Put the red line back in and see how much today's game slows down.

Great point, plus the hooking, ice conditions and equipment were just terrible. The old leather weighed you down another 15lbs when the game was done.

Which game are they showing tonight? I voted for the 1980 all-star game. Because still in Habs dynasty and Howe and Gretzky, etc...
