He got to make his greatest call at the end of game 6, "The 2012 Stanley Cup Champions, your Los Angeles Kings". His voice will be missed. RIP David.

This is heartbreaking. I'm so glad he got to witness the LA Kings Stanley cup run. It won't be the same without him. His family are in my thoughts

So sad. Terrific talent. The last hockey game he announced was when the Kings were presented the Stanley Cup. Glad that he was able to have that moment.

Nothing has been released yet and I am not going to speculate but he tweeted last night that he was in the hospital waiting for an angiogram.

So draw your own conclusions. Very sad news.

OMG. Why? This is so sad. He's also the PA announcer for the Angels and the Clippers. R.I.P. David Courtney. He was great at what he did and I'm sure he had fun doing it. We will miss you.

Didn't he just get married a few years back?

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...YOUR LOS ANGELES KINGS!

Terrible news, but at the very least, he got to call our proudest moment. Man he will be missed. The in-game experience will never be the same again. It would be like losing Bob.

I had one of those in high school when I was rushed to Stanford Medical Hospital. They thought I had a brain aneurysm. Scary stuff.

So sad about this news. I always loved hearing him announce Kings goals scored. Not going to be the same with out him. Thoughts go out to his family.

If it hadn't been for the lockout, he would have gotten to announce LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... YOUR STANLEY CUP CHAMPION LOS ANGELES KINGS! a few times.

As crass as it may sound, I disagree.

His last call...will always his BEST call. His walk off shot.

RIP Big Man, RIP.

These are the human losses the lockout has produced. David Courtney never got the chance to announce the banner raising.

You can thank the greedy owners and players for such human losses.
