1) It's probable that the name will be announced by mid January when they introduce a GM along with at the very least some promo material like helmet logos and maybe a jersey mockup.
2) The team will adopt the usual red black and white colours.
3) The RR name and/or something with local connections would be nice but not essential.
4) Personally Mr Hunt would choose Rough Riders if it was available.
From what he said, we can eliminate any name already used by any other sport team in Canada or the USA so don't expect a trademark war with anyone.
5) Unless there's a name that jumps out above all others, Mr Hunt doesn't feel the name is that important. No single name he's heard so far has mass appeal so he figures when we connect with the on-field product we'll identify with the team name in time.
News coming from TGOR this morning is saying that the team is to be named the Ottawa Rush.
It has an R in it... so... yay? As long as they don't try to ruin the logo and jerseys all modern and streamlined like the old Jays jerseys before this year.

I wonder if it was purposefully leaked as a trial balloon to see public reaction? If so, I also hope negative reaction will cause them to re-think. I'm not generally a fan of 'singular' names.
I don't doubt that they would register multiple potential names; you don't want Internet squatters to swoop your name before you settle on it.

Pretty sure this is what's happening. Still, the fact that their collective minds liked it enough to retain it at register it worries me a whole lot. Rush... Come on.
