He claims he had cupping done.

I replied "oh okay, we students were just wondering if you lost a fight to a vacuum cleaner or if someone desperately needed an A" and he started uncontrollably laughing

DVM, you have a medical background, yes? Do you know anything about a person being a super antenna? Having some kind of extra conductive ability that can mess with electronics?

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

No touchy the bipeds.

There's no reason a person couldn't generate a stronger than usual bio electric field, but it'd be odd for it to be THAT strong.

I feel compelled to ask how this topic came up.......

Biofeedback. I broke the machine.

A normal range is supposed to be 0-50, with a person at rest hovering between 3-6. I didn't just max it out, I was resting at 400, which according to the technician would have required me to practically fracture bones from the exertion. It was looking at electrical impulses in the body in microvolts.

I don't believe it was supposed to be my body generating the field, but the electrical interference of just the electronics around me being conducted through me into the device.

That's probably more likely, and/or that something wasn't grounded appropriately.

I would have assumed some kind of error, except she tried it on herself beforehand and it worked. No other patient has the kind of reading I do.

Also, the IT guy said they had encountered cases like this before, just that it was extremely rare.

Odd. You may be slightly more conductive or you could some membrane differences that lead to an abnormal potential level. To be honest the specifics of that sort of thing are about 20 years ago for me, sorry.

Now I'm depressed.

I just figured you might have an idea. It's something I'll need to research. Appreciate it.

I have a couple of ideas, but I'd need to check a few things before I would up lying about things to you. No worries.

Sure. I'm just curious, and I'd appreciate any info I can get.

Not completely off topic, but does anyone know if the Ponda can scan a PDF ticket on a smartphone, or if it needs to be printed?

They use handlheld laser readers. I'd strongly suspect they need a printed ticked, but have no actual knowledge yes or no.

Yeah, these have issues sometimes scanning the tickets inside the plastic lanyard sleeves though. Like I said, however, I have no idea. I've never seen anyone using a phone rather than a ticket or printed ticket. I'd call the box office and ask before I tried it.

i would ask too, even if they could do it doesn't mean they will. stolen tickets might be an issue or something.

You have to start carrying a light bulb around. If you end up in a place where there's a lot of electronics and you need light, you can just hold onto the light bulb!

In other business, is anyone getting a 503 error when browsing HFBoards? Half the time I open a thread or post, it just throws a "Service Unavailable" message until I refresh it.
