Tretiak has played loads of great games against world's most talented teams and has been terrific and dominant in most of them.
Yep, the only beef I have with the list is having Tretriak below Dryden - and I'm an "old" Montreal fan. That New Years game said it all....
Dryden was a great Goalie, perfect for that team (could stay sharp when seeing few shots - not an easy thing for most goalies) but Tretriak outplayed him.
Plante was a pioneer, hard to compare between generations as we all know...

I went in thinking I would be his advocate. Did a lot of game to game research on him...came away thinking he didn't belong. Seems very likely that he was the Osgood of his era. I'm not sold that John Ross Roach wasn't better or at least on par. Adding Connell was largely a stat grab, unfortunately.

Not that its relevant, but Anderson only played 24 games this year and Elliott also played less than half his team's games the year before (38).

Yeah, he's not bad. Combine this playoffs (to date) and last: 1.78 GAA, .936 save pct. and 5 shutouts in 27 games. But he's only 14-13 over that stretch. Score a goal for this man...
