What Would Our Record Be If We Were Actually Playing?
To get some real Maple Leaf discussion going, I thought this might be a fun thread. What would our record be right now if we were playing the games?
I listed the schedule up to (and including) the game that was supposed to be played today, Nov 15th against Pittsburgh.
You can post our record, or even guess a win, loss, OTL for each game if you want. Assume the roster is the same as when the lockout started (no Luongo, but yes McClement). Get into more detail if you want, like who would be leading in scoring, who made the team out of camp, how are the goalies holding up.

Reason: People didn't see the "no Luongo" part.

16 points in 14 games. On pace for 94 points and be a playoff bubble team.
Reasoning for my game outcomes: Complete fabrication and just my guess haha.

We seem to often start out fast and then crash and burn later. Being in a playoff spot 14 games in is completely reasonable haha. Don't think we would finish there with our current team but you never know

The reason why I think we start off so hot is because were a fast/skilled team that burns other teams early on, problem is a) other teams figure out to take away our speed and pin us in our own end b) our players wear down to do an overly uptempo system.
How about his stats the rest of the seasons in October?
Averages to .900ish, terrible IMO. Then again that's what Reimer averaged last season and much better than Toskala did so maybe the Leafs fanbase will be more accepting?
Of course Luongo averages something ridiculous like .930+ in Decemeber.

I don't doubt that Luongo would do well overall in Toronto, you're twisting my statement.
I mentioned that Luongo would most likely flop in October and Leafs fans would go crazy. I don't think that is an insane scenario to propose.
On another note, why are you here again? I swear as soon as you talk about another teams player, the lurkers come out of the woodwork in about two seconds.
Luongo is a notorious terrible starter. He ***** the bed in October and November every time.
We would be 3-9-2 and the fans burn the city to the ground.
Maybe it wasn't clear when I said "Assume the roster is the same as when the lockout started (no Luongo, but yes McClement)." I mean, I wrote that right there in the first post. But, you know, whatever. I'll say it again.
Assume the roster is the same as when the lockout started. No Luongo.

Probably something like that. We're still a pretty bad team. Bad goaltending, bad centre depth. Bad team defence / PK.
With their speed and offense last season, the run and gun style worked well for them up until the end of the year. Under a new system where they won't be playing like that, I'll just take the safe bet and say whatever their record would be, it would probably be a losing one.

The NHL schedule makers usually are very kind to the Leafs by giving them a soft easy schedule to allow them to start the year off well.
Leafs finished 5th last (26th) overall last year, and 3 of their first 5 games Montreal (28th), Columbus (30th) and NYI (27th) are actual non-playoff teams that finished below them in the standings. Toss in Anaheim (25th) and you have 4 of their first 7 games all against non playoff teams from last season.
You couldn't really even hand pick a more desirable/easier schedule to begin with, in hopes of getting off to a quick start.
