If you would just read the article you would see its a permanent disability and if he wants to play he has to go around the problem.

i dunno if it's a medical impossibility (i'm not a doctor so i'm talking out of my ass here) but at the very least they can't say that it's going to get better.

maybe it miraculously does later on, but as of right now i think there's no indication that it is gonna heal up

I'm not a doctor either, but some body parts don't regenerate, and I guess this nerve thing is one of them...

Anyway, here is a local article.....

If you go to the first page, that DalePurintonIsGod guy is a complete idiot. He said that Blackie is arrogant. Funny, I've met him before and he is one of the most humble and coolest guys I've ever met.

Listen to how Blackie is doing by clicking on the Freson Falcons Broadcast or click on the telecast if you want to watch it. But it costs $6.

I'm listening. He just gave up a goal on a rebound.

looks like 13 saves for DB after one -- down 1-0

I'm going to rely on the papers and JD for info but 13 saves and 1 goal on THAT team is really encouraging. Its not the AHL but if he played in a beer league and saved 13 to 1 goal I'd be happy. I guess it isn't as easy as I thought it would be to score on him.

They sure are testing out that blocker. But he has stopped them with ease. He seemed to have a problem with covering up the puck on that goal.

Well he can work on covering to get at least ok at it. Saving should be his main problem. I mean if its out in front of him he can learn to leap his whole body over it or 'surround' the puck with his arms and put his head over it. I don't think that will be a huge problem.

Poor Blackburn...almost a fairy tale, of sorts, comeback...tied 2-2, and Fresno scores with 1 second left on the clock...DEVASTATING! lol...

oh well...still turned away 28 or 31 shots in a losing effort...I hope there's some highlights on Sportsnet or CTV or something tomorrow...

This is a pretty good picture of the palm side of his second blocker.

29 saves on 32 shots in his first game in almost 2 years, with a completely new style of play and equipment...that's pretty damn good. i'm really happy for him, i hope he continues to play well and can maybe get a shot at the AHL..maybe even NHL eventually. it's a long shot but i can certainly hope for his sake

and it's great to hear that even though they were testing his glove side, he was turning shots away with ease

Will Blackburn be able to play in the AHL if a team wants him? Meaning this year.

He stoped 32 of 36 shots and then won the game in a shootout. He did let in two goals on seven shots during the shootout though. This guy never gives up.
