What makes Bryz any different than these guys? He's basically all of those 6 goalies in 1
The only two of those I remember people legitimately saying that about was Beezer and Cechmanek. Biron people thought we had a chance. Boucher people were excited because of his rookie run, and I think that was completely understandable given what he had accomplished that year. Sean Bruke and Robert Esche were not talked about as anything special to my knowledge. What makes Bryz different is that he has shown (not necessarily in Philly or with any consistency) that he CAN play like an elite goalie. I happen to think that if the Flyers don't win a Cup with Bryz in net, the onus will not be squarely on him. Of course I could be wrong about that, and I am not on board with the sentiment that we WILL win a Cup with him, but as usual, I don't think it going to be Bryz's fault if the Flyers don't win a Cup over the next eight years.
