Jake Gardiner, 1-0 Marlies, PPG, slot wrister; assists to Kadri and Kostka; Amerks PK forwards get caught, 4v2 rush ensues, D backs off.

Nice defensive play by Girgs, starting a 2-on-1 that Rankin just missed finishing.

Another Marlies PP, MacKenzie off for interference. Earlier PPG came from a Tarnasky holding penalty.
Red light comes on, but the ref says no goal; now under review; no goal.

An Amerk hit the crossbar, missed the number; Girgensons is noticeable thus far tonight, a couple good shifts already.

Girgensons looks good for his first career professional game. Looks like a strong kid and has already shown his good defensive ability twice. The offense will take time as will his speed, but having him play in the AHL instead of the WHL or NCAA looks like a good decision. Looks like a man-boy out there.

Well, I thought the Amerks were going to the PP, but Brennan takes a penalty in a scrum with Komarov to negate the initial boarding call.

He hasn't been to great. Including last night's game. He just took another penalty.

Brennan takes a cross-checking penalty, another PP for the Marlies; huge save by Leggio; end of one, Marlies lead 2-0, shots 15-6.

I thought Kadri has looked good for Toronto. It's obvious the talent is there. I don't know why he can't take the next step.

Adam misses the net from the slot on what looked to be a gaping net; may have been deflected by a d-man.

Legault tried to replicate that Foligno behind-the-net hit, but missed his man.

Foligno scores a PPG, 2-1 Marlies; assists to Hodgson and Brennan; Brennan intercepts pass, drops to Hodgson upon entering zone, who finds Foligno in the slot for the wrister.
