Kadri throws a punch at Girgensons, knocks off his helmet; refs intervene.

Hodgson stoned by Scrivens on a point-blank one-timer.

Mancari takes an interference penalty, giving the Marlies their eighth attempt on the man advantage.

Nice play by Adam.
It's just you. I watched the entire game focusing on hodgson. (who i wish does very well). The guy is a slug, He might be slower then he was last year, It makes no sense.

His IQ his shot, passing, vision is all there, but the guy literally is one of the worst skaters I have ever seen.

I really hope he rips it up in buffalo tho.

37-17 for Marlies without Leggio this is not even close. Kadri mentioned it is nice that their defenceman can move the puck up the ice to the forwards so quickly. That is what I noticed we only had a few guys today who can move the puck up quickly to the forwards. Alot of firing the puck off glass or to the neutral zone for giveaways. Maybe that is part of the reason we only created 17 shots.

Good game folks! Zemgus is something for sure, was very impressed with him. Pysyk was a guy who I also was impressed with. And as much as I hate Mcnabb...he was quite effective for you guys hahah.

Cheers

I think I read that they did 20 minutes of work back during the Blue-White scrimmage and only one PPG was scored, but with already 15 power plays against, they better get it together, as the penalties are killing any chance of sustaining momentum and fluid line rotation.

For what it's worth, his skating did look faster to me tonight than last year. Although, I just attributed it to playing in the AHL. I thought he looked really good out there. One of the few forwards who seemed to have anything going.

Yeah that's what I thought, I didn't think it was worse at all, maybe the same but a little better. Iono maybe I'm just looking for things selectively.

i was so looking forward to watching the game. What a shabby performance! The Marlies were faster, stronger, and a hell of a lot more motivated. Hodgson looked like he had sand on his edges and the special teams well-they weren't. Have we misread the calibre of the guys we have in Rochester or is Toronto so much better? Or are we off to a (Hope hope) slow start. Without Leggio the Marlies would have been in double figures....

Just got back from the game. Both teams definitely played a bit like it was still pre-season. A lot of guys were taking it easy and not giving 100%. Girgs was by far the most notable guy for the Amerks, he had a few nice passes, always fought for the puck along the boards and finished his checks. His youth/inexperience was pretty obvious in his overhandling of that nice breakaway opportunity. He wanted to be flashy instead of getting off a clean shot and it might have cost them the tying goal at that point (BTW, the announcer made sure to butcher his name properly. One of the poorest attempts I've ever seen). Foligno stood out only because of his massive amount of ice time, but he too had some pretty decent moments here and there. I didn't even notice Hodgson until the halfway point of the game. He had a better second half, but still didn't do anything to set him apart from the rest. The same can be said for all the top Leafs prospects. None of them did anything to prove that they should move up to the big club if and when the season begins. The only real highlight for either team was Hamilton's nifty goal.

What's up with Foligno's lazy ass backcheck on Toronto's 1st goal. Not the player you would expect to see that from. That was a pathetic play though.

You don't need blazing speed to be a good player, look at the sedins for example.

Was at the game live this afternoon. I'm a marlies/leafs fan so I obviously wasn't paying particular attention to anyone on your side, but I'll say that Foligno stood out as your most effective forward.

He got the goal, but it's more than that. Very quick for a big man, always finishing his checks, relentless forecheck. Great player.

Maybe because Adam's playing on his wing?

I have to admit, his foot-speed is not something I was watching on either night.

Better than last for sure. He was probably one of Rochester's better forwards last night. Made some nice defensive plays, was taking the puck to the net, created a real nice scoring chance for himself (which he ended up derping on by by over-handling the puck though). You could definitely see the level of talent there. Seems to be adjusting very well/quickly to AHL competition.
