Liking O&A instead of Stern makes you a hipster? Jeez, it's like that insult holds no weight anymore.

Exactly, when I did tune in I found him annoying. Combined with appearances, ect. This is before he was on Sirius. I wasn't a consistent listener so you can take that with a grain of salt.

Does that make sense?

He is a talented wordsmith and quick thinking speaker who happens to be an arrogant, neurotic, hypocrite surrounded with sycophants. A combination where the result can be interesting, funny, cringe-inducing, or leave you with the need to shower.

Been a serious Stern listener since my high school days in 2000. It was through him I learned of the Sept. 11 attacks. First thing would do in the morning was turn on the radio. That day I turned it on and instead of the delay as usual, it was live from NY.

With Sirius I've gotten to listen to a lot of his old days stuff with Billy West and all that. Those were the golden years. I still listen today and think he is the best interviewer in the business. I'm pragmatic about him and see the faults of his current show but it's still better than 99% of stuff out there. Just the idea of actually listening to a show, no visuals, is something people these days don't seem to comprehend.

Howard Stern is the man!

I don't listen to his daily shows because I don't have a subscription, obviously, I much prefer to listen to Bob & Tom on those rare mornings I am up early, but I do enjoy listening to his stuff on YouTube, watching HowardTV on YouTube, etc. I always listen to the Eric The Midget calls.

I'm club ****ing footed you asswipe!

Even when I was a teen, when he was most popular among my friends, I always thought of him as more of a creepy dude with dirty jokes than funny.

Some of my favorite stuff are the crank calls to Fox News/CSPAN and when they take the audio books of celebrity autobiographies and use them for crank calls (George Takei and Richard Simmons are the two best ones on YouTube).

Zero......Point........Zero.....

One thing I definitely miss about the show is when Artie bust Eric's balls.

I'm thinking the higher-ups at Sirius, and not Howard, are the ones that don't want Artie back due to his loose cannon type of personality.

Great ETM bit here!...

The backstory here is that before ETM called, Artie was telling Howard how he watched one of those pretentious Celebrity Life show with the Robin Lesch type narrator in which they covered the cost of Howard's home in the Hamptons.

That is untrue, but you're right about the show missing Artie a lot. Shuli sitting in his chair is kind of an insult to the show at this point. With that said, his most recent week of radio was one of the best in a long time IMO. The week before was also strong. The show seems to be getting better and better which is nice to see.

The show stopped being funny when they moved to Sirius. My wife still listens to every show, but I try to change stations if I'm in the car with her.

Also, I never liked Artie on the show...
