I wish I was in your position, lol. I've had the case, RAM, PSU and SSD in my possession for probably 3 or 4 months but the money ran dry and I had to divert it elsewhere. Now I'm done school and have a pretty good job lined up so I splurged on the rest of my build

Might I ask what type of components you've bought?

I remember it could run Crysis pretty well when it first came out and a few of my friends came over to watch. Good times haha.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 1GB video card, and I got Far Cry 3 + Hitman Absolution for free with it

ASUS P8Z77 motherboard

Corsair HX750 750W power supply

Antec Three Hundred case

Intel Core i5 2500

8GB G.Skill Ripjaws ram

Everything else I need is in my current computer. Compared to what I have now I think I'm going to be blown away when I boot it up for the first time.

Nice. It's an ASUS then? IDK about ASUS, I have an ASUS and I dislike it immensely compared to the ACER I used to have. Although I think that might be was cause my old video card was way better. This one is only a GeForce 9300M 512 MB. Struggles mightily with Civilization 5 and Starcraft 2. Not too mention I want to upgrade to Windows 8, i freaking hate Vista, what useless software.

I am going to look for a new laptop on boxing day, gonna see if I can get a good deal. This one is 2/3 years old, it's starting to be pretty dated. Plus my parents bought it for me, and quite frankly, the older generation has little concept of computers

Well.. Asus motherboard. It's a desktop. The video card is from Sapphire, who are a very solid brand in that regard.

I don't really do laptops because I have no use for them. I have dual monitors and one of them doubles as my TV so I don't really have to move. And I have a little netbook for when I visit my parents and I used it for school.

Ah ic. I don't have a desktop, nor with I go to that I don't think lol. I have my one laptop I carry with me pretty much everywhere, but I usually make sure it is pretty much top of line, at least when I get it. I move around my house, but always have my comp with me Sometimes in the room with my satellite radio, sometimes in the cooler basement (summer), sometimes living room with the TV, sometimes in my bed. I don't like being tied down (a parallel for my social life )

That's pretty close to what I'm building, I opted for the 3570k Ivy bridge and the XFX core edition 7870 which was on sale.

I'm curious, what type of keyboard/mouse and monitor do you have?

Nice, I was looking at the 3570 too.

I have a basic wired mouse (can't stand wireless) and a G15 Logitech keyboard. 22" Samsung is my main monitor and I have a 24" Samsung for a second monitor/TV. It's nice but also makes you super lazy because I can sit there all day.

Of course I did.

Also they sent the 3rd part separately. 2 parts came from New Jersey and the other came from LA. How efficient. And apparently it takes 2 whole days to fly something from LA to Vancouver even if you've paid for 'express'.

This Is 40 - new movie with Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. It's a sorta-spinoff of Knocked Up, if you saw it you probably remember those two as the sister and brother-in-law of Katherine Heigl's character.

Anyone see the new Nike commercial airing during the Canada-Finland game today? Our boy Scheifele features quite prominently in it:

God I love Scheifele's personality.

That's deep, man.

Also, after a few long hours I finally built my new computer. I had some idea of what I was doing and somehow made it through.

I've been through a few of these end of the world things...it usually doesn't happen. Still, it's not the exact time of the solstice yet - that occurs at 5:11am CT.
