"One day" ...
Savard is 35 years old. It will just not happen.

I won't mention any names but someone made a connection yesterday ( one I think is just total coincidence ) But Reid's downfall started all the way back with the Spooner trade. He really didn't get enough in return for Spooner. Same thing last season when he traded away Austin Watson. Basically got nothing in return. And with Slater Koekkoek coming out and saying what he did had to be the final straw.

What's interesting is that all three players have the same agent. I'm sure its going to be read by someone, but as I said, I think its just coincidence.

As for Savvy, I can't say whether he has or hasn't inquired about the position, but he hasn't officially applied for it. I hope he does. Think it will be good for both Savvy and the Petes. He'll bring some stability to the franchise.
Thx Dom, not sure if you know but is Savvy well enough to take on the day to day demands of such a job?? It sounds like he is but I don`t suspect this position would be/is one that is free of plenty of stresses?

I haven`t a clue if this is even a position or something a team/league has but is there a post- career committee?? Horribly worded, I guess what I`m asking would be when a player finishes his career, is there a committee that he could contact, sit down with, and have them counsel him on the emotional ups and down he may face by being separated from the game, how to handle his finances responsibly so his earnings don`t dry up etc???

I just watched a great episode of 30 in 30 based on athletes who blasted through all their savings for various reasons and was wondering

Right now I hope he just continues to get well. I hope Cooke gets the runs tonight because I can't stand that POS doing this to him
Exactly.

I truly hope that he makes an insane comeback, I know its highly unlikely, but just imagine.....

Not to sound like a total dumb*** here; But what does multiple concussions do to make it impossible to play in the NHL again? Is it the actualy inability to physically compete, or the risk factor of what could be the consequences of him trying to play again and future injury?

In Savard's case both since he still got headaches every day and so on.
He'd play if he felt ready and/or the doctors gave him the ok.

From everything I saw from Phil, teammates never had that much of a problem with him, Coaching staff is a different question of course.

I don't undo the trade. But the fact that I like the trade doesn't entitle me to rewrite history and make Phil out to be some kind of bad kid. He's a good hockey player -- he just doesn't play the style the team wants guys to play. Blake Wheeler had the same problem, Dennis Wideman too. All three are thriving in other systems that play to their strengths better. We don't need or deserve to demonize them for that.

A player's definition of a "good teammate" and a fan's are often two very different things.
