went with Kane, he's a good fit for them and they'd move Hossa before they move Kane

that's a tough one.... I think over the next 5 years, it would be about the same. In a trade, I would never agree to a straight up Kane for Price trade. Bowman wouldn't too. There was a rumor before Price signed his extension that Bowman was offered Price for Kane straight up.

I really doubt the last part tho. Not that it can't be true. But Montreal organization's depth between the pipe is probably the worst in the NHL. No future at all.

I'd love to see what Price can do with Keith, Seabrook, Hjarmarlsson, Montador, Rozsival. Thats actually very solid top-5. Dunno if Brookbank or Oduya will be their 6th man.

Chicago would still have plenty of firepower offensively. I think they would be a better team with Price than Kane.

You forgot Leddy.

And the answer to this is Price without question.

But Subban and Gorges are stud defenders. Emelin had a great rookie season and Markov is one of the best defenders in the league when healthy. Price already has a good defense in front of him.

Patrick Kane.. PPG in the playoffs, scored the Stanley Cup winning goal. Chicago doesn't need a 6M+ goalie to be successful. They just need to find another Niemi.

Hossa, Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Keith.. that's the core. You can have an average goalie and still win with that.

Also if we're talking of value...Kane is worth a lot more in a trade than Price. Only goalies that would be worth more would be guys like Lundqvist, Rinne, or Quick.

I like that no Hawks Fan voted Price, yet. Care to explain us Hawks Fans why we would be better with Price than we are with Kane

Maybe because Chicago is 6th in goal scoring and 22nd in goals against. The decline in offense would be more than made up for in steady goaltending.

Also consider the first round last year. Chicago was a good team but non-clutch goaltending caused them to lose tons of tight/OT games.

Kane.

However, I think Montreal is able to compete better with Price than they would with Kane.

You would still have a decent offense.

Also, Crawford lol.

Better with Price, minus Kane. But Kane plus a better goalie then Crawford is better then Price plus a solid forward.

Chicago needs a better goalie, but not at the price of a Kane or Hossa.

I think what should scare you more is that most objective fans feel the opposite

The Hawks have a lot of fire power coming through their system on the wing. I am also down on Kane because of the off-ice stuff if I am the Hawks. I don't see it being made straight up, but in terms of center pieces in the deal, I think the Hawks win. Glad so many Hawks fans are against it, hope their organization feels the same way as a fan of a division foe.

Price.

Chicago would still have a good top 3 on offense with Toews, Hossa and Sharp. That doesn't nessecarely mean that the trade value is there.

I think more that we know our team and we know what Craw has done and could do. We also know what Kane can do and does.

Other teams see Crawfords numbers and say bad goaltending and see 3-5 bad goals against. We see what he can do. Crawford can be a good goalie that is enough to go deep in the POs. The 11/12 Crawford just laid eggs at the worst timing, something the 10/11 Craw hasn't done. The difference to Price isn't worth Kane. If Kane is worse than Price... Kane can't be replaced

Price, no question.

Vancouver then trades Luongo for Markov+Pacioretty+Eller.

Vancouver turns around and ships Eller to Chicago for Crawford.

Montreal, meanwhile, has traded Patrick Kane, Tomas Plekanec and a 1st to Tampa for Vincent Lecavalier and a 2nd...
