Peters has done well, but I think it's Wardo's turn for a few games.

FWIW, I'm doing an EHM league as the Canes right now myself, real-time sim.

http://www.ehechockey.com/standings.php

Team's defense is ridiculous right now (other then the PK) but damn, how the hell to catch Phoenix.

Forgot to mention, but despite still being a bit sore, Anton made his return last nite.

Their Ukranian played better than ours

Box Score
----------

1st
----

ES Goal - 4:13 - CAR - Jussi Jokinen [10] (Jeff Skinner, Justin Faulk) - sick top corner back hand deke

ES Goal - 4:56 - PHI - Blair Betts [4] (Ruslan Fedotenko, Sean Couturier) - slap shot from point

Penalty - 11:33 - CAR - Tuomo Ruutu - 2:00 for slashing Kimmo Timmonen in the shin

2nd
----

ES Goal - 4:52 - PHI - Wayne Simmonds [9] (Ruslan Fedotenko, Luke Schenn) - perfectly placed wrist shot from slot between Cam's blocker and pad

3rd
----

ES Goal - 1:10 - PHI - Claude Giroux [11] (Jakub Voracek, Braydon Coburn) - Cam slid and stacked the pads and the puck hit them, but bounced over

ES Goal - 5:44 - PHI - Ben Holmström [1] (Jakub Voracek, Braydon Coburn) - harmless wrist shot went off two players and a post before barley crossing the line. I also honestly had no idea who Ben Holmström was, I had to do a wiki search to make sure he actually existed

ES Goal - 6:28 - CAR - Patty Dwyer [4] (unassisted) - Dwyer destroyed Coburn behind the net and tucked the puck just inside the post on a wrap around

ES Goal - 16:04 - CAR - Jeff Skinner [10] (Mike Green, Jordan Staal) - on a partial break, Skinner got Bryzgalov to bite and go down on a fake slap shot, then chipped the puck over him

ES Goal - 16:32 - PHI - Claude Giroux [12] (Jakub Voracek, Braydon Coburn) - wrist shot went in off the cross bar.

Three Stars
------------

* - Braydon Coburn - 3A, +2
** - Claude Giroux - 2G
*** - Jakub Voracek - 3A, +1

Winning Goalie - Ilya Bryzgalov
Losing Goalie - Cam Ward

My buddy just looked at our roster and said we should figure out a way to trade Ruutu ++ for Ryan Kesler as 3rd line C

Semin//Eric//Iginla
Jokinen//Jordan//Skinner
Callahan//Kesler//LaRose

We could call the third line "Team America"

Yes they are, but they're also not interested in trading Kesler and his trade value is about 50% more, so we'd have to add.

Just got offered this trade out of left field.

D Mike Green
C Victor Rask
2014 CAR 2nd

D Fedor Tyutin
RW Jared Boll
2014 NYR 1st

Value if fair I think and Boll is a North Cackalacky kid. We sacrifice a bit of offense for better defense. Goal scoring isn't an issue with this team anyway. This also frees up almost 1m in cap space; Green is 5.2 and Tyutin is 4.5.

Thoughts?

Don't like moving Rask, but how's the Rangers 1st projecting to be?

edit: 2014? way too far out.

A year in the future, but the Rangers are a bottom 5 team right now. Could be nice trade bait at the deadline tho?

EDIT: Rask is obviously our most valuable prospect, but I could counter offer with picks or something else if we feel Tyutin and Boll would be an upgrade. At worst it'd give Semin someone to talk to

I'd argue that Ryan Murphy is our best prospect.

Syomin has an introverted personality, we shouldn't be that desperate to find him a buddy.

fair enough, but the point I guess is if the trade us worth while as is, if it needs tweaking, or if it needs to be shoot down completley

This game gave me a sad.

Speaking of trades, it's occured to me that we've played 33 games without trading for Marc.

We need to get on this lol.

Apparently, this is a rivalry I was unaware of. Lots of heated play and penalties.

Box Score
----------

1st
----

Penalty - 0:49 - ANA - Matt Beleskey - 2:00 for high sticking

Penalty - 1:20 - CAR - Jay Harrison - 2:00 for slashing

Penalty - 1:40 - ANA - Corey Perry - 2:00 for slashing

Penalty - 3:09 - CAR - Tuomo Ruutu - 2:00 for tripping

4v4 Goal - 3:38 - CAR - Tim Brent [2] (Patty Dwyer) - shoveled in a rebound over Hiller's pad

Penalty - 12:07 - ANA - Devonte Smith-Pelly - 2:00 for hooking

2nd
----

Penalty - 2:57 - CAR - Tim Gleason - 2:00 for holding

Penalty - 3:18 - ANA - Ryan Getzlaf - 2:00 for elbowing

Penalty - 3:47 - ANA - Matt Beleskey - 2:00 for roughing

ES Goal - 8:45 - ANA - Gilbert Brule [8] (Luca Sbisa) - wrist shot from low slot

ES Goal - 12:20 - ANA - Dan Sexton [1] (Bryan Allen, Andrew Cogliano) - slap shot from point

Penalty - 16:45 - CAR - Tim Gleason - 2:00 for hooking

3rd
----

Penalty - 2:44 - ANA - Matt Beleskey - 2:00 for tripping

Penalty - 3:01 - ANA - Ryan Getzlaf - 2:00 for interference

Penalty - 3:46 - CAR - Tuomo Ruutu - 2:00 for holding

Penalty - 4:16 - ANA - Gilbert Brule - 2:00 for elbowing

ES Goal - 13:41 - CAR - Chad LaRose [7] (Tuomo Ruutu, Ryan Callahan) - Hiller came out to cut down the angle on Chad who was skating down the sideboards. He slapped it and it hit Hiller in the mask and bounced over his head and into the net

OT
---

ES Goal - 1:50 - ANA - Corey Perry [17] (Bryan Allen) - Allen shot the puck as hard as he could from the point, Babchuk went down to block it (more on this in a sec) and the pucked bounced to Perry who hit the top corner

Three Stars
------------

* - Jonas Hiller - 46/48 saves made
** - Bryan Allen - 2A, +1
*** - Corey Perry - GWG

Now back to Babchuk. When he went down to block Allen's shot, the puck hit him in the face/head and he is now out 10 weeks with Post Concussion Syndrome. His estimated date of return is Sunday, March 3rd. In the mean time, I've called Sanguinetti back up, but Anton is expected to miss 29 games so not sure if we wanna just keep Bobby, or swing a trade for a depth defenceman who might be a better stop gap for that length of time?

Thoughts?

Sangs is better than anyone we could sign (I already checked), but I'll have a look see for cheap bottom guys in a bit.
