Where are you getting this stinking pile of horsesh*t from?
They get their information from where we all do here - we create it. Be thankful we have absolutely zero impact on what the Leafs do or don't do. Simply have a good chuckle and move on. It's entertainment. I know I enjoyed your post. I am still smiling. Now I'm going to the barn and pick out a stall full of ... You get the idea.
He wasn't. His point was valid. Boston also won the cup without Marc Savard. Does he suck?
Boston saw Kessel as expendable and traded him for draft picks.
They then won the cup two years later, proving that Kessel was indeed expendable to their team. They then drafted 2nd and 9th overall while winning a cup.
It makes their gm look like he knows what the **** he's doing. And that genius of a gm (who was able to win a cup while drafting 2nd and 9th overall... UNHEARD OF) didn't care to have Kessel on his team.
Speaks volumes.
Unlike our GM who traded away 2 first round picks in the trade and then finished 2nd last and 9th ****ing last.
I fail to see in any way how this is even remotely comparable to Savard... a guy that was injured during the cup run.
The person that I directly quoted was criticizing Boston's lack of scoring depth in the playoffs the year they traded Kessel. He was making the argument that Boston would have won TWO cups if Kessel stayed.
Insane... I know... but that's what he wrote.
It is true that Boston missed Kessel badly that first year. Once Satan's surprise scoring dropped-off, they coughed-up a 3-0 series lead against Philly.
There are concerns about his commitment to fitness, and his professionalism.
The guy plays 20+ mins on most night (the most among our forwards by a fair margin), and probably skates the most distance each and every night on our team. WTH are you talking about fitness concerns?
Feel free to unburden yourself with all your professionalism concerns about Kessel.

Right, ones made up by fanbase.

So, Kessel is only worth keeping, if he can be the "centerpiece" of your organization? We spent a decade looking for good wingers for Sundin, and now that we have one, some people want to get rid of him. Unlike a prototypical sniper, Kessel actually makes his linemates better with his playmaking abilities.

Oh the HORROR!!!
They only won the cup ONCE since the trade.
WE'VE FINISHED 2ND LAST, 9TH LAST AND 5TH LAST SINCE THEN. AND WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE OUR FIRST ROUND ****ING PICKS FOR 2 OF THEM!!!!!!!!!

OH, REALLY? I DON'T THINK ANYONE WAS AWARE OF THAT. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING IT TO OUR ATTENTION.
P.S: A team's ultimate goal should be to win the Cup every year. Going from cup champs to first round exit against an average team (mostly due to the lack of offense) had to be considered a disappointment for them, whichever way you slice it.
Edmonton didnt need Gretzky to win the cup....
Does that mean he wasnt a good player?

You guys absolutely gone off the deepend......typical of these threads. Who the F said that Kessel was not a good player. How can anybody say that? 6th overall leading scorer has to be a good player. Duh. Just like a 26th place team has to be junk....The point being made was that Boston won the Cup after trading Phil...there is no argument there at all. In the process they acquired 2nd, 9th and 32nd picks overall....no argument there. How anybody can criticize Chiarelli or the Boston organization for such an epic deal is absolutely ready for a rubber room. Can you imagine if a Toronto GM pulled this off? There would be statues built my friends

They won the cup because of Thomas's absolutely incredible performance, If it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have made out of the 1st round in 2011 either.
If Disgruntaled Observer gets this upset over a 3 year old trade that he had no impact on and can do nothing about, I wonder how he reacts when something that is actually important goes wrong and he has no control over it?
Quick, some put all his milk into air tight containers, we don't need a meltdown!

It's easy to see why he is losing it. The way some fans defend the crap Burke has assembled is frustrating.
Gardiner, Phaneuf, Kessel, Lupul sure looks like a pile of crap.
I know I am not alone in almost begging Burke's detractors to please tell us all who you would rather have running this team?
Who is better?
Stop asking for actual answers. It takes away from the amount of screaming and complaining they can do while not offering a single bit of incite into how they see the problem being fixed!

Are you kidding?
IF the trade were reversed the TOR GM would be getting crucified for trading an elite scorer. And Since all our prospects are garbage, Seguin would be a bust and Hamilton overrated and Knight would be three steps behind useless.
You and DO and a few others would still be hating. Just hating different players.
