I think the sharing of rooms thing is a bit overblown...
They also have curfews and bed checks... again this isn't real world stuff. They get paid MILLIONS TO PLAY A GAME... it's not the same as someone who travels for work.
If you need convincing look no further than Crosby staying at Lemieux's house for his first two (I think it was two) years in the league. These guys are always learning from veterans... rooming together is part of that, part of team building and tradition.
That being said I obviously wouldn't let it stand in the way of a new CBA. If that got a deal done, then fine.

Starting to hear rumblings of Bettman/Daly presenting #NHLPA with something today. Not confirmed if it will be considered a formal proposal
I dont get this at all... you think its unreasonable to want their own room?
When I travel for work, if I had to share a room with one of my coworkers I would NOT be going on the trip. No chance. Hell,. I wont even make a trip if they book me on a middle seat on a flight.
These guys travel for long periods of time... how can you blame them for wanting their own space? They aren't buddies going on vacation and looking to save a few bucks on hotel rooms... this is their job. It takes them away from their home and their families for extended periods of time. I think the least they could expect is their own room so they can have a little privacy.
IDK what you do for a living, but would you want to share a hotel room with your coworkers?
You aren't thinking clearly. You aren't traveling with a TEAM, nor are you playing a SPORT. You probably sell printers. No bonding needed.
Pending on what the NHLPA comes out and says, the NHL just took back the PR battle in my head. 50/50 is EXACTLY where they should be, and let's just see how greedy Fehr and the players want to be.
Of course, I'm sure there's much more involved in the NHL's offer that the PA won't agree to. They would be smart to pocket the 50/50 from the NHL though and throw that in their next proposal.
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: League offer of 50/50 split would begin in Year 1. No phasing in
What I'd like to know is are they asking players to increase escrow, take a roll-back, did they re-define HRR in their proposal? Optimistic, but guarded until I hear the details.

Bettman said no rollbacks but there never was in the last proposal either. It was the escrow that was high IIRC.
They're going to reject it, without a doubt. The true beast will be revealed as to how the PA reacts to the 50/50 split. If the PA counters with their next proposal and asks for more than 50% THEN I'll slaughter anyone with you.
