Yaks production is off the charts for a player post draft
Ovechkin post draft

yeah.... yak has 3 less goals in 24 less games than ovi had at the same age in the same league... its getting to be pretty hard to see how this kid doesn't score 40 in the NHL... the only potential problem i could see is that he doesn't have the size of ovi or malkin, so he might not transition as well as they did to the more physical NHL-style
i could see yakupov being very similar to a parise-type player actually, now that i think about it
Haven't really watched too much of Yakupov but from the highlights I've seen, I would think Parise is maybe a better comparison than Bure.
Something inbetween maybe. He plays the corners and hits more than Bure, he has the low center of gravity like parise for sure. However, he has that Bure one timer.

I would say he is between them
Those are two good comparisons IMO. I went over to the main board (big mistake) funny to see how many people are really mad we picked him over Murray.
IT is, though I would suggest he might not have the pure goal scoring ability of Bure and won't be as good of a all round defensive player as parise.
however, still a deadly combo. I see 40 goals, 80 points and a better defensive player than bure ever was. Some one who will hit and play the corners as well.

I agree that he will be defensively more conscience than Bure and engage in a lot more physical contact. Bure did play with that sort of intensity just not in a banging crashing sense. He looks like a more North American influenced version of Bure. Or a cross between Bure and Ovie.
I wonder if he would be better than Eberle playing with RNH. He seems to be a better sniper than Eberle and has more speed. Or even with Hall on the LW, that would be a tough line for any team to defend against.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to the team if he turned Gagner into an elite 2nd line center?
- tied for 6th in the KHL for goals (3 back of the league lead)
- leads his team in goals by 2
- 4th on team in points (players ahead of him have 5, 9 and 9 more GP than he does)
- 41st in league points (every player ahead of him has more GP except Tarasenko, who only has 1 less game and 2 more points)
- the craziest stat I noticed is that Yakupov has 10 of his teams 67 goals, 15% of the total - all while only playing in 13 of his teams 22 games, so 59% of the games
- i didn't look at the individual games, but a quick guess would have Yak scoring roughly 25% of his teams goals for the games he has played in
oh how awesome would it be if this somehow caught on for when yakupov scores in the NHL... the story behind it is funny and great, and it *does* sound really dramatic and epic
