Seconded on this, but it had more to do with the fact that I was resigned to us picking at 2 or 3, thus ending up with Murray or Grigorenko.
As soon as I found out we won the lottery I was pretty excited because it meant we were going to get Yaks.

Same with Schultzy
Absolutely agree on that count. The lockout actually benefits this team imo. I just want to watch them ever so badly.

It was epic.

Reminds me of the late 90s Oilers where any Oiler was a possible/plausible combatant, and if you couldn't score, you better be able to drop 'em.

To go play in his home town? can't imagine he would. have to think he still gets a cheer.

Do you think that Yak has proven himself so far as a legit scorer since he has good numbers in the KHL?

No, he's obviously very bad at scoring.

He reminds me of Ovechkin with that wrist shot from basically just inside the blue line. Not a lot of players can bury a shot like that. Very impressive. Looking forward to seeing him in the NHL. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Him getting passes from Nuge or Eberle or Hemsky or even Gags... drool.

Do you think that in a few years when the technology is available, that we could merge our 4 forward stars into one dominant ultimate megasuperstar?

Well he didnt get booed earlier this year when he dropped the puck at a Sting game, don't see why he'd get booed now.

He hadn't very publicly refused to play there at that point.

There is a chance he'll get booed. I hope Sarnia fans show some class and cheer him.

He is highly respected in Sarnia. And for good reason. I don't like to make the comparison but for a taste of reality, would Oilers fans boo Ryan Smyth if he still played in Long Island, Colorado or L.A.? Not the same in a lot of sense but he brought a ton of heart, soul and loyalty to that franchise and city. Fr those that only became a fan of him when we won the lottery or aren't sure of whether Sarnia fans will accept or reject his return.

I miss those teams. They didn't win all the time but damn, they didn't take **** from anyone. I miss having that much toughness throughout the lineup.

I don't see him getting boo'd in Sarnia.. maybe by a few people here n there.. but I can't see why they would boo him. Its not like he turned down Sarnia or asked to be traded to another Junior club. He chose to play Pro in his hometown during a lockout, no reason to be bitter about that.

Yup! Proud, vicious underdogs instead of being soft and embarrassingly undertalented.
