Johnny Heismanziel Appreciation Thread

With the BCS standing out, figured it'd be a good time to start Heisman conversation.

Geno Smith shouldn't be penalized because his defense is awful. Granted this was the first defense he played that had a pulse but his stats are ridiculous.

Geno & Klein go head to head in Morgantown Saturday night. If WVU wins & Geno has one of his typical big games, he should once again be the frontrunner.

Big game against KSU? He's not going to go all video game on that defense.

Exactly, and WVU isn't going to have the ball all that often since KSU's offense is about possession.

We shall see. I think Geno bucks the trend and has a monster game at home.

Usually the player is from a top team in the nation, which Wisconsin isnt. So I would say no.

I'd love to see Te'o win it but we all know a defensive player won't win the award.

You can't argue with 25 td's and 0 ints, regardless of the defense they have. Geno Smith is the favorite right now.

Miller and Klein have closed the gap with WVU losing in the fashion that they did. But right now it looks like a 3 horse race with Te'o and Thomas getting some solid votes as well. Really only reason I call it a 3 horse race is that a defensive player is probably never going to win it if Suh didn't. Gehrhart and Ingrahm were solid in 09 but nowhere near as dominant as Geno, Klein, and Miller have been this year (different positions, I know). Only reason I don't figure Thomas into the equation of those 3 is that he doesn't get enough touches to really be as strong a candidate there.

Make or break week for Manziel IMO. If he performs well (even if we still lose), I think he might have a shot at being one of the 5. Might.

My top 4 looks about the same as everyone else's, though. I've got Klein at #1, however.

Klein
Smith
Te'o
Miller

Geno, we have lovely parting gifts for you.

Welcome to the role of frontrunner, Colin Klein.

Smith has faced terrible defenses until the last 2 weeks....and has gotten the crap kicked out of him. Overrated.

It is really more of the wheat belt. Though, KSU is actually in the Flint Hills and is just grazing for cattle mainly
