Kavis Reed JUST said that Messam is number 1 on the radio.

Messam's no Cornish, that's for sure. Starting a canadian at running back is foolish, especially the way Messams been playing this year. Rather see a guy who wants it at running back, and that's probably a healthy Boyd.

Yes. The coaches like him and aren't blaming him totally for Friday's fiasco.

Is Jyles still injured or do they just not like him anymore?

He'd better have a much shorter leash. 6/24 was pathetic.

He's just as much to blame as the lack of protection was to blame. As Rishaug said there was fundamental errors being made and they need to pull him sooner next time.

They don't like his 5-4 record as a starter...

Who are they blaming?

Each other?

Maybe it was the fan's fault?

The guy had half the season to prove he was a starter.

his wins are not reflective of ability, that defense was winning him games.

The guy can not scramble for his life, and if we have a crappy o-line (which we do) than he is and was going to get eating alive!

I'll never forget that one game this year, where I literally saw Jyles watch a guy from 10 feet away rush him, he just stands there as this guy tackles him straight on!

from that point on, i knew Jyles didn't have a future here. He lacks instinct.

It was.

Joseph is going to be hot and cold I fear. I wouldn't be suprised to see Joseph absolutely blow us away in the first playoff game only to have another 6/24 in the east final.

He just seems like that kind of quarter back.

Which really isn't an issue, if you pull him early if struggling.

Did anyone hear Warren Moon on the Team 1260 this morning around 9:30 and can provide a summary of what he may have said about this team's current management? I've been told he has some strong views on the topic.

I would say the closer truth is he doesn't have a lot of games in him. You can't play rely exclusively on a 39year old to play multiple consecutive starts anymore than you would a 39yr goalie. Football at the best of times tends to take a one week toll on the body.
After one game Joseph actually had medical treatments after the game due to being spent and dehydrated. Playing pro football at that age takes a lot out of you I imagine. Joseph is a damn good athlete but you start taking a pounding like he did in BC and you probably start feeling really old in a hurry.

I really wanted Joseph pulled early on Saturday. Much like you would with the top pitcher in your bullpen. Save him for a better day, we weren't winning this one anyway.

Now we go into Montreal with Joseph spent, banged up, and looking his age. The good thing is we have a longer gap between games this week which might help out.

I believe Jyles has played his last down with the Esks, and maybe in the CFL.

Did you mean to post this 3 weeks ago?

So what happened in practice that you say this now?

Ha, no I meant to post it today. If you want to know what's been happening at practices, I'll tell you that the guy who has awed the coaches the most is Masoli. He's been running well, handling the offence very well, throwing lasers and generally looking like the best guy. He'll really push the others next year in camp. I know one guy in management who thinks he may be The Next One.

Masoli looked awful in the pre-season and was arguably the worst of the bunch. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if he's progressed that much.

Maybe it's just me, but when I hear next one with regards to our Qb's, it's not a positive.

Hopefully the Esks can get the QB situation sorted out for next year. I don't see Jules back at all next year. Joseph should retire IMO and we should try and sign Reilly or McPherson, preferably Reilly.

Nichols and Masoli should get a fair shot at the starting or #2 position next year.

I'd like to see them convince Dixon to come.

Dixon is expected to sign for next season. You'll like that.

What I expect to happen next year: 1. Nichols, 1B/2. Joseph, 3. Masoli, 4. new guy TBA

What I hope happens: 1. Reilly, 2. Nichols/Masoli, 3. Masoli/Nichols/Joseph, 4. new guy TBA

The coaches feel that Joseph has a place on the 2013 roster. They also feel he'd be a really good coach, so he may be around this team for a long time.

I see no Dixon yet they are signing him?

I don't expect him to be the #1 right off the bat, but he's got to be in your top 3. At least I'd hope so. Can't see him sitting around too long as anything less.

I also see Joseph here. Is it possible he retires mid-season?

Of the neg-listed guys announced a few days ago, Dixon is one of those most likely to sign here. They feel they have a great shot at three of them, Dixon being one of those.

Joseph could retire. If not, I expect him to be on the roster (top three). I think it's his call.
