For $400 it is one phenomenal phone. It feels amazing, feels bullet proof.

Gorilla glass 2 and the bumper should be safe enough for light wear and tear. Unless I'm pitching it I'm not too worried hehehe

But . . . But . . . Android fans mocked Apple fans for having to have a case on their phone.

I thought it was because of Antenna gate, not the fragile but elegant nature of glass.

That was entirely because of the poor antenna design.

Most people put cases on their phones regardless of whether it needs it or not. If something costs $400+, it makes sense to care for it more than the minimal required amount. Even my HTC One X, which is a very solid phone, is in a case because I find it provides better grip.

On that note, I'll add that the Nexus 4's rounded sides that curve upward from the back is the perfect design to fit in a human hand - the squared sides of the iphone look nice but saying it's a good design is like thinking the NES controller is ergonomic. Far too few phones have a caseback with that shape anymore but rather are designed only to look nice.

Lucky you!

How would you rate the 3.5 mm headphone output? Compared to an high-end Samsung/Sony or iPhone if possible...

So apparently the Nexus 4 does have an LTE chip, but it's not turned on. You can turn it on, and it's reportedly working in Canada.

To get it working, you dial *#*#4636#* and it accesses the phone's test menu. Then, you change the preferred network type to LTE.

It's only working in Canada right now, and apparently it drains the already easy-to-drain battery.

Someone wanna try it out?

It works in Canada because our carriers rolled out LTE on the AWS band. Where as the AT&T has rolled it out on the much superior 700MHz band.

Also, related to the LTE on Nexus 4, AndroidCentral really fell flat on its face.
They modified their article after the discovery that their condescending article was COMPLETELY wrong.

Quote:
The original article said:

That's led some to believe that the current Nexus 4, a device advertised with HSPA+ connectivity, might actually be hiding LTE support to be unlocked in a future software update. Or maybe it could be possible to root the Nexus 4 and, you know, use mad hacking skills or something to unlock LTE on the device.

All of those things are wrong.

And it now says

That's led some to believe that the current Nexus 4, a device advertised with HSPA+ connectivity, might actually be hiding LTE support to be unlocked in a future software update. Or maybe it could be possible to root the Nexus 4 and hack LTE onto the device.

removing the line "All of those things are wrong"

Notice how they've intentionally left it as an open possibility. The date of the article hasn't changed, although the title has changed slightly from

No, your Nexus 4 won't magically grow LTE support

to

Why your Nexus 4 won't magically grow LTE support

I put this in the comments of the article but it was deleted, as have other user comments critical of the issue. The original article is still in the google cache.

No . . . I was referring to the glass back. Fandroids lol'd at not being able to go naked. Now the Nexus 4's back is even more fragile than the iPhone 4.

But antennagate was much lulz.
