No, I'll give it a spin. Although GO EX is nice and fast. Might be because it's on the Note 2 though.

I can second Apex. I love it. Switched from Go to Apex a few months ago and it was the best decision (GNex).

I'm really enjoying mine.

So far my only two gripes are;

No apps to SD & Samsung touchwiz is all but useless. I've had 3 samsung phones with it & I hardly use it.

I just started using my iPod Touch 4G for the first time since I bought my phone (July 2nd). I'm really happy I went Android now.

iOS is solid no doubt, but it just feels dated now that I've been using Android 4.0. No true multitasking and it feels more constricted, especially when browsing. For example, I can go on my browser on my android and easily download an app or a movie or something from the internet. But, when I go on my iPod, I have to find workarounds.

Not trying to bash the iOS, it's still good but just saying how I'm happy I didn't go for the iPhone like I originally was.

I think a lot of people would feel the same way if they just gave Android a chance.
iOS is definitely a better platform for some people, but app availability and usability isn't a reason to buy iOS over Android anymore.

I used to use Apex/Nova launchers before rooting my phone

I'm using JellyBAM ROM, which is basically the "pure" Android UI

Asking those who own a Nexus or or run a "pure vanilla" Android ROM, is it still worth to use Apex or Nova?

I use Nova on my Nexus 4; mostly to get rid of the search bar at the top

yeah

But my ROM has that option (remove persistent Search Bar)

I think Im gonna go back to Nova or Apex, they do have some quick access feature not present in most ROMS, such as:

- long press the screen : add widgets (in my ROM, wallpaper selection only)
- you can remove a shortcut/widget by long pressing an icon; in my ROM I have to drag the icon up top

I downloaded Launcher 8. It's pretty cool if you don't mind the look of a windows phone.

I'm giving it a shot now, thanks for the suggestion!

I'm not a huge fan of multiple pages or live wallpapers, so this is pretty damn cool. Need to find some icon packs though.

So I just noticed that the google nexus 4 is back in stock. I was just wondering if anyone has bought one and went directly to a carrier in Canada? I just don't want to by it and then end up having difficulty. I will be going with Virgin or Bell. I will most definitely not be going with Rogers.

My phones starting to glitch... The screen won't turn on when I press the power button it will just stay off... Happened to me twice now. I have to hold the button let it go then hold it again. Like I don't know if the phone turns off by itself or if then screen just won't turn on . I don't know just very annoying.

The Score just updated their Android app and the new one, IMO, blows chunks. It's about 1/10th the speed of the old one and that's on a good day. I took the rare step of emailing them directly to complain about it (since I don't use Google+, I can't leave a review on the Play Store any longer).

Seems okay to me. Did you try rebooting? Most apps I install are glitchy until after a reboot.

Bah. Not sure why the resolution is crap. But that's my WM8 theme. DIY icons, Live wallpaper, kind of a nice android/wm8 mix.

I really like Launcher 8, but it kills my battery due to the scrolling pictures. I like it anyway, plus I have the MAXX so it's not so bad.

I kind of like it, but it looks way too much like the Yahoo app now. Also, they took away the ability to get rid of leagues you didn't want to follow, so the listing is a little more cluttered than I want it to be. I do like how they include stats now, just there's more too it. There was also a charm in the previous version's original design, but I'm glad for the change. Keep things refreshing I guess.

No change; it's still trash for me. I try to call up last night's Jets/Canadiens boxscore and stats and get a big fat nothing. 15 seconds to even load last night's scores (and then a few more seconds to display all the logos).

But the thing never fails to display the ads at the bottom. They're there in an instant. Marketers

You're right. I replaced the flipping folder animations with a single custom icon. For example the headphones icon's folder has about a dozen music apps inside. The battery life seems fine after you kill the folder animations.

lol, yeah those ads arrive about 10-15 seconds before anything useful when I really NEED a scoring update. Infuriating.

I use the NHL Gamecenter app for scores now. Far better than The Score.

Are you serious? The old one was bad enough so I can't imagine how it got worse (though I haven't updated). Every time I click a game to check the stats it'll send me back to the main page, but not even the main page as I left it, the main page from a few updates ago - all of a sudden time has jumped back 20 minutes or more. If I just try to refresh the main page with scores, who knows what will happen. That app is terrible.

Looking for two apps that do the following, would appreciate if anyone knows.

App 1 - Similar to google maps or map droyd but can find an address and use your GPS location rather than wi-fi meaning no internet connection is required.

App 2 - An alarm clock app which can be turned off easily. I can set multiple alarms with several apps but then when you wake up after the first one, you have to go and turn off all the other alarms or turn off the device which is annoying.

Also does anyone know how to get the android market to update to the play store? I factory reset my device and then put a rom on it but I can't get the market to update, it doesn't show the new play store.

.
2.I use Alarm Clock Xtreme (free version); awesome sauce

3. Depends on the version of the Gapps that are associated with your ROM
