So GoSPSPro has apparently decided they are going to spam me with text messages multiple times every day advertising some stupid new background, which also annoying get downloaded onto my phone. Anyone know the best way to stop this from happening?

Got the Note 2 on Saturday. It's pretty damn amazing. Screen in awesome and the speed is incredible. And I've only scratched the surface of its features. Even the battery life has been better than my MAXX. I got used to the size after about 30 minutes of use.

I am starting to lean heavily towards the Nexus 4. Is there any big android phone releases in the next 2-3 months? If so, which carriers?

Samsung is said to be preparing the GS4 soon-ish. Probably for a June-ish release.

This is what I'm keeping my eye on.

As stated above, the Galaxy s4 is gonna be announced some time over the next 4 weeks or so (no idea about the actual release date) and the new HTC flagship phone is going to be announced soon, perhaps by the end of the month (not sure about release date).

Rumored HTC phone:

Motorola X - http://tech2.in.com/news/smartphones...-sensor/749602

Rumor to be out on google i/o event.
Also rumors of a Nexus 5 being introduced as well.

As mentioned by the peeps above me, HTC M7 (ONE) and Galaxy S4.
Ones that have been announced already that be worth a look is: Sony Xperia Z.

I really, really hope the Moto X turns out to be awesome. I'll keep my phone till I'm ready for the perfect phone (don't have to re-up till June).

I had that too. The same ad, three times in one day. Thankfully they stopped at that. I'm hoping they are just notifications.

I didn't stop using the service though, as being able to use smilies is worth the inconvenience.

I've had mine for three months, and I'm still finding new things to use it for and to do on it.

The downside is that the wife constantly gives me heck for being on it. Whether it be surfing, books, movies, music, whatever. But it is truly an all-day, all-purpose device.

FYI, BlueStacks released their much-anticipated App Player earlier today. It lets you run Android apps and games (750,000, they say) in Windows (XP, Vista, 7 & 8) and MacOS. Apparently, it's a free download. I just tried to install it, but it didn't like the out-of-date drivers (which I can't update) on my old laptop, so I can't try it out just yet. I'm not sure how usuable it'll be with a mouse instead of a touchscreen, but it's expected to huge for Surface owners who have, so far, had to put up with only 30,000 apps in Microsoft's app store.

I'd easily settle for just 64GB. 128GB would be nuts. I'll be all over this phone if that's accurate. I won't get my hopes too high, though, since it may not be accurate at all.

I read an article on mobile syrup saying that the SGS II will get the jelly bean update on bell soon. I'm on virgin, what are the chances I can get the update?

Likely you will get it as well. Maybe a few days later.

Thank you very much Sined, and I feel like an idiot for asking this, but how do I go about updating my phone? I have never really updated anything on it before.

Under Settings, About Phone and Software updates. It kinda varies per phone.

Don't some galaxy S II's have to use Kies to update? I think my sister did it that route, but I'm not 100% on this.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S II jelly bean update out for Rogers yet? The one with the four light up buttons on the bottom, not the rectangle click thing like the S III has.

It's very possible.

Yeah Samsung mentioned that they would be announcing more carriers and phones getting Jelly Bean.

My sister has the GS2X through Telus, and had to update via Kies to get ICS. That could've just been telus though, and/or things could be different for Jellybean.

So I see Virgin Canada is going to carry the Nexus 4. If you get one from a carrier, is it still unlocked automatically, and will you be able to get updates as if you got it from google or will you be at the mercy of the carrier?
