Is that really enough to protect it? Seems pretty simple enough...I was worried I'd have to shell out $50 for a case.

Alright, I'm due for my upgrade from Verizon tomorrow. Given that I'm looking to upgrade right before the new phones hit the market, should I just wait? If I don't, I'm sort of torn between the S3 or the Razr MAXX HD. Could I go wrong either way?

Waiting is always the best way to go imo. If you can manage until early next year, why not.

Yeah, I am leaning that way right now. I was so stoked to get my X as soon as I was able to, only to find out that the new phones were coming out in a couple of months. Maybe for once I'll be ahead/with the pack instead of constantly trailing it.

A full system dump of the Nexus 4 was leaked today:

http://www.androidtaskforce.com/2012...4-system-dump/

At the very least, you can grab the wallpapers and sounds from it, if you're interested.

Also, apparently, Google is going to come out with a physical Google Wallet card that you use with the Google Wallet app for retailers don't don't support Google Wallet. It sounds like a great idea. One card can be programmed to represent any of your credit cards, which you can then leave at home.

This type of case is all I've ever used for my phones. Protects against everything and is very minimalist. I'd go for it.

No idea, but a Verizon JB build leaked yesterday. There are a whole bunch of stock ROMs with the new JB build baked in.

Still no Galaxy Note 2 availability. Next Tuesday at the earliest.

Apple launches are pandemonium. Samsung launches are a ghost town.

Pathetic.

Nexus 4 reviews are in.

Only a 8.3 score on The Verge. No matter... I'm going to get it if there aren't any good smaller phones coming out soon (something like a Xperia SX north american version).

My Samsung Galaxy S II randomly updated itself this morning. I am now on 4.0.4 I think I was just on 4.0.1 before? I don't know. Either way, it looks a tad different now.

I was playing with the Note I just to see if I could really handle the Note II as a phone. No bueno. Just too big. I had thought it would be fine before, but I don't think I can do it. I guess I'll just wait until the S4 comes out.

The good thing though is that all HTC One S have the same hardware. So theoretically this means carriers in Canada have the build to test, only time will tell how long it takes for them to approve the update.

I feel they over emphasized the lack of LTE. If the iPhone 5 launched without LTE it most probably wouldn't have been as big a deal (still pointed out but not singled out as badly as on the Nexus 4).

A lot of it has to do with the fact that the iProducts are often only compared to the previous iteration by reviews which I believe is wrong.

Compare that to the Nexus 4 which not only is compared to the previous version (which coincidentally had a ****** LTE version) as well as flagships like the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, HTC One X and most ironically the LG Optimus G which is the phone that the Nexus 4 is based on.

That's why he was so (unfairly) harsh on the lack LTE.

According to this:
http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5...message-id/355

Rogers will update their Galaxy S II in late November. I expect US carriers to match or beat that date.

Sounds like it deserves an 8.3 (or even less).

No LTE is a horrible mistake. The glass backing seems more fragile than the 4s's (I can't believe that it was broken after such a short damn fall).

I don't see why this is a better choice as a phone than any of the other Android phones on the market. LG has made substandard products for years now (they had a nice run with the texting phones on Verizon, though, back in the day -- my EnV was bulletproof) that aren't TVs or monitors. And even at that front, Samsung outpaces them and is priced at almost exactly the same price point.

What? It's not unfairly harsh. It's kind of a major oversight. Two generations of Google's flagship phone now don't support LTE, at a time when all the major players are heavily moving into LTE. That's really dumb.

I was excited about the Galaxy Nexus, until I realized it didn't support LTE. I was intrigued, but less excited (mainly because I don't like HTC), about the Nexus 4, but not having LTE means I didn't even give it a second thought.

I just got the Galaxy S III today, instead.

Somehow Google is now behind Apple. I never thought I would see that day.

I think you mean LG where you wrote HTC, too.
