Proposal: MacArthur for your defensive d-man

Agree that CMac shouldn't be traded for any of those listed players as they're just more win-now type secondary players who will help us win nothing until we address the goaltending and 1st line center issues.

However, CMac is generally vastly over-rated on these boards. Lots of people like to call him a 60 point player but he did it only once with lots of power play and both of his linemates also having incredible season. Fact is he is a tweener. Can put up 2nd line numbers given the opportunity but brings very little else to the table.

The way I see our lineup right now is like this

Lupul - Bozak / Connolly - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - Kulemin

I would rather trade Mac for someone like Korpi on a third line with McClement. Would make a fantastic PK unit

Should it just be a universal truth that:

"__________ is severly underrated around here" when talking about a leafs player?

I'm not saying their not, I'm not saying they are. I'm just commenting on the high correlation between talking about a leafs player and also having a leafs fan stating his undervaluation around HF.

Well it's true when considering Kessel, Phaneuf and Gunnarsson. MacArthur I feel is overrated by some leaf fans while slightly underrated by the leauge but not enough to make a case about it. The rest are valued fair most of the time.
