I agree. It sucks he's gotten injured the last two years too. But from what I've read his most recent injury isn't too bad as he was limited in practice today. I just wish the Bears would use him as they did under Martz by catching more passes out of the backfield. Sooner or later they'll learn they can't target Marshall half the time. Not having a decent tight end should motivate them to do this too.
My fantasy team may be the worst team ever assembled. I'm actually embarrassed by what I put together.
The team I drafted was...
QB: Eli, Big Ben
WR: Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson, Holmes, Laurent Robinson
RB: Forte, Turner, Pierre Thomas, DeAngelo Williams, Mendenhall
TE: Fred Davis, Owen Daniels
K: Gould
DEF: Jets
After the major injuries that affected my team, this is what it looks like now...
QB: Eli, Bradford
WR: Fitzgerald, Hartline, T.Y. Hilton, Josh Gordon
RB: Forte, Turner, Mendenhall, Williams, Thomas
TE: Daniels, Clark
K: Gould
DEF: Miami
Also note that every one of my top picks completely busted. Forte and Fitz have been terrible this year and Eli has been ice cold over the past month or two. So if they aren't out for the year, they've sucked. My team is 2-10.
I had injuries/sucking to Forte, Turner, Vick, Roethlisberger, and Aaron Hernandez. Only consistent players I've had are Marshall, Julio, and Matt Bryant.
i have Matt Ryan and RG3 on my team and have lost 3 weeks because of choosing the wrong one to start. i got Ryan up this week and benching RG3 against the Giants. fingers crossed!
I had a similar situation a few years ago. I had Forte, Turner, and I think Brian Westbrook. Forte was a rookie and it was Turner's first year in ATL. Not 100% if Westbrook was my other guy or not. Point is I had 3 of the best RB's in the league in a 2 RB, no flex league.
Bunch of friends were ripping on me for not trading. Problem was my team was stacked all around so trading one wouldn't benefit me all that much, so I held out and demanded a top 5 WR in return. No one was going to do that and I wasn't going to make an opponent A LOT stronger and barely improve my team. Instead I rolled 3 backs and played the matchups and had a backup in case of an injury.
Guy with RG3 and Ryan could be in a similar situation. With a 9-3 record, he probably has a solid team as is. No need to trade one unless you get wowed. Especially with RG3's style of play.
I have Gronk, McCoy and Austin hurt with Jennings just coming back (maybe). As usual my injuries almost always strike just before the playoffs. A few years back I lost my entire backfield - Turner, Jacobs and Benson all to injury just before the postseason. I did manage to get a couple of their backups but still. A couple years ago I was literally picking QB's off the wire for the playoffs (Kerry Collins and Tim Tebow, no less) because Romo was hurt and I couldn't drop him with a goofy keeper league rule, Orton was hurt then benched and Cassel had an appendectomy, and I also had Gates hurt that same year though at least Owen Daniels did well for me in the postseason.
My guess is it's more of a hate having to play him? I hate playing Rodgers but it's hard to hate the guy cause he seems like a good guy and is the best QB in the business as far as I'm concerned.
The same way we hate Lundqvist even though he's not a tard. He's the key player on a rival team.
I don't hate him. I dislike him when the season is in session, and I dislike him even more when they're playing us, but I have a solid amount of respect for his abilities.
